  1. And how is admission to and subsequently receiving a degree from Duke not considered impressive and at least an indication of some degree of intelligence? of course, this could just be some kind of jab related to college sports, which I couldn't give two expletives about.
  2. Scruffy dude against the Cutler trade is probably Morrissey.
  3. Jake Fox just said he expects to play 3B today.
  4. In the world of sports talk radio, anyone who often uses VORP in player analysis is a stathead. He's really smart and really good for the most part. I tried listening for a few months a while back, and I wouldn't say he's smart. He's a baseball idiot and a mostly rational football guy, but not smart. I'd say his eloquence/articulacy, his broad knowledge in general about just about anything, and the fact that he's a Duke graduate make it safe enough to say that he's a smart guy, especially within the realm of sports radio. I know that's not necessarily relevant to what you're talking about, but I like the fact that I'm not listening to an idiot talking when I listen to their show, which you can't say about 9/10 people in sports radio. And to say he's a baseball "idiot" is just a tad hyperbolic, IMO. I generally don't listen to the show for baseball talk, though.
  5. lol this idiot is raving about marshall as a loogy
  6. Benson wasn't a rookie, FWIW... and he was slated to be the team's #1 RB at the time (it was 2006, btw, I was wrong about 07), IIRC... the injury kept that from happening and Jones took hold of the job and held on. At least, that's how I remember it.
  7. I don't know if I'd go as far as to word it that strongly. He's well educated on them, which he makes known now and then, but he's not what you would call a big believer in all of it. He's a really smart guy, though.
  8. These guys have a history of crap like this. Benson in TC in 07... I wouldn't put something like this past Urlacher, and I definitely wouldn't believe it didn't happen just because he denied that it happened.
  9. He's a huge liability at whatever position they put him at and they are locked up for at least a few years at the positions where you can hide a bad defender. I don't feel nearly strongly enough about it to argue about it, though. Meh.
  10. Read the Urlacher quote above. The OTA confrontation didn't happen. Yea....I'm not exactly buying anything that Brian Urlacher is selling. What else are they gonna do but deny, deny, deny? That said, I apologize if I'm missing sarcasm here.
  11. I hate you. I just listened to these idiots say the Cubs should trade Fox for a crappy left handed reliever because there's a chance that guy might get a big out some day. They're right about his lack of a future in the NL and the fact that you should trade him while his value is high, though (if you can get something worth a damn).
  12. I'd recommend listening to the Score for the next hour or two if you're interested in this soap opera. Apparently there was some kind of altercation where Urlacher confronted Cutler in OTAs or something. If all of this about tension between the offense and defense is true, I'm sure it'll manifest itself as training camp heats up.
  13. Well this one's gonna help that run differential...
  14. Cubs kicking ass today and tomorrow we get pictures of Bears players carrying their TV's to their dorm rooms. Today is awesome.
  15. Nope I didnt even mention that part to them. Here is the thread. http://gatewayredbirds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36360 That is the most generic message board I've ever seen. Man, that's basic. it's a lot like ours but a slightly more bare bones in terms of traffic and subforums
  16. wow, i thought GRB was mostly more level headed than that. that whole thread is absurd.
  17. did you mention that part? (their schedule) (that was for keener)
  18. Shhhh, its all luck and the fact that we have faced crappy teams........... lol is someone saying that? Check out GRB sometime. lol cardinal fans of all people saying that... come to think of it, they have to be saying it tongue in cheek considering what we've been saying about them for years now.
  19. Shhhh, its all luck and the fact that we have faced crappy teams........... lol is someone saying that?
  20. This team is starting to resemble the 08 team again...
  21. you seem way more positive than usual today wtf is going on? The Cubs are winning a baseball game 7-0. still unusual this reminds me of when boers and bernstein were absolutely giddy after we got cutler... most positive show they ever had
