In the world of sports talk radio, anyone who often uses VORP in player analysis is a stathead. He's really smart and really good for the most part. I tried listening for a few months a while back, and I wouldn't say he's smart. He's a baseball idiot and a mostly rational football guy, but not smart. I'd say his eloquence/articulacy, his broad knowledge in general about just about anything, and the fact that he's a Duke graduate make it safe enough to say that he's a smart guy, especially within the realm of sports radio. I know that's not necessarily relevant to what you're talking about, but I like the fact that I'm not listening to an idiot talking when I listen to their show, which you can't say about 9/10 people in sports radio. And to say he's a baseball "idiot" is just a tad hyperbolic, IMO. I generally don't listen to the show for baseball talk, though.
