  1. Except play closer to their abilities for the next 70 games or however many. I'd rather take a bet that pigs gain the ability to fly before October I'd be glad to bet you on the Cubs winning the division if you think it's such a longshot... with commensurate odds, of course
  2. Why is that messing around? Hitting the pitcher 8th is smart, and despite what the rest of baseball tries to portray it as, it's not just some gimmick. That said, it's not a huge deal either way.

  4. hahahahsahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
  5. ESPN doesnt seem to like the deal. I'm guessing that's Rotoworld's take on it, but either way.
  6. werd i know a few cardinal fans and they are not happy with this deal
  7. Can't friggin wait.
  8. Hey I have an idea...let's hate a team that plays in a different league and gets treated like a red-headed stepchild in the city, getting significantly less attention than the Cubs despite the fact that they just won a championship 4 years ago...
  9. Is the anti-Sox snark really necessary? This is NORTHsidebaseball.com, so I think it is necessary. lol
  10. The catch itself wasn't that great, it was his recovery when he dropped it. + the situation
  11. hahaha that too
  12. NFL.com piece on Marinelli and the line... http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8116b944&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true Oh, and... wow So much for editing.
  13. That's not to take anything away from him at the plate. He's an offensive beast.
  14. Jose Oquendo says hello http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7C0gSvTcf58/Rg0iqf-GgBI/AAAAAAAAAL8/zydNCcnn46o/s320/jose_oquendo The second ugliest just doesn't quite have the same ring to it
  15. I'll be at this game with work tomorrow  The Ugliest Man in Baseball http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/421685.jpg 106 ERA+ 1.421 WHIP faces off against Randy David Wells http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/448694.jpg 146 ERA+ 1.148 WHIP
  16. Levine was just on with Carmen, Jurko, and Harry... he mentioned that the Cubs are looking at LH relievers beyond Sherrill... Can't remember if he named anybody. If he did, it wasn't any name that stuck in my mind... Also said that the Cubs are trying to deal for Freddy Sanchez but have to get the financials (for next year, in particular) approved. Finally, as of today, Bradley's 3rd year option has officially vested.
  17. Yea, I'm pretty sure that what has been said all along is that this is the essentially the same offense that Favre knows inside and out from his entire career. I mean... WCO is basically WCO...
  18. Just curious, but where have you heard that stuff about him having trouble? I'm not arguing, I'm just wondering where it's coming from. All I had heard recently was that he was working out with those high school kids again and felt pretty good...but maybe there's a reason he hasn't decided yet (other than skipping OTAs and the beginning of training camp). EDIT - This was direct at Soul's post before hawkeye's...
