  1. Rogers apparently backed off of this today.
  2. this would be the best example of boob boobing ever if it happens.
  3. The Score was half-jokingly (but kinda not) implying that this all came from Reinsdorf who is nothing if not petty towards the Cubs (and also probably Boob's only source). Also, the thing about not meeting his price is in conflict with much of we've heard, most notably Sharma/Mooney saying they may not be outbid. Those are guys who love pouring cold water on big rumors.
  4. Jed definitely doesn't seem to be a fan of Boob and probably thinks he's a moron like the rest of us. The Score has a drop of one of his interviews where he sarcastically says something like, "Or you guys can have Bob Nightengale on and ask him."
  5. It's a defense mechanism for some people to be assume bad outcomes.
  6. With such a unique name like David, it makes sense that you guys would make that mistake.
  7. If he actually has information (and, as we've seen, occasionally these randoms do), then it's perfectly reasonable for him to say things that the journos aren't willing to. Those guys need more concrete info, more sources, etc before they put it out there, as a rule. FWIW, he did have degrom signing before anyone reported it.
  8. Definitely didn't have you in mind with that post, to be clear.
  9. Levine is a goofball and can't type but he's always been as plugged in as anyone.
  10. What in the bloody hell are you guys talking about? The winter meetings haven't even started yet. Big free agents nowadays frequently take it into January. If this gets done in the next week it's relatively quick if anything. He's not holding up horsefeathers and doesn't owe anyone a fast decision anyway.
  11. Those projections are based on Steamer and he acknowledged that zips hasn't released yet and will likely project them to be better.
  12. If I had to guess, he probably does this year. At least until this is settled.
  13. Based on nothing but my vibe from following the story, it feels like it'll be over this weekend.
  14. Well, he lives in LA, and I'm not sure they have any intent of even going to Nashville to begin with. Seems like the reports that he wants this done ahead of the winter meetings are accurate as it all appears to be coming to a head.
  15. The increases in revenues that would come with Ohtani are also wacky.
  16. They're just picking the most obvious narrative (and mostly without a ton of conviction) lol
  17. Right. Again, take anything where Jesse Rogers has room for interpretation for what it's worth (the analysis of an idiot). But it's still probably accurate lol.
  18. I gotta think, despite what Rogers may think (and, lets all remember, that despite having sources, Jesse is an idiot, so we can trust his sourced reporting while questioning his analysis/interpretation lol), that that just may be the case for right now. I mean, it's possible that he's heard that they just don't have interest, but I'm sure all of the focus is on Shohei right now and if/when he signs elsewhere, whatever Plan B is will become the focus.
  19. From Altman's piece on all this...
  20. FWIW, a couple more tweets I dug up from that Dave guy. Blah blah it's probably all made up but take it FWIW. Sometimes these randoms turn out to be legit and most of the time they are making horsefeathers up (just like the sports journos lol) I'm not sure if it had been reported by any real outlets that the Rangers were definitively out yet. Anyone know? But he Tweeted this last night and it jibes with what Passan said this morning. Also, this...
  21. Yeah, but he hadn't just spent 5 years living in LA that time.
