  1. Were they requiring you to wear shorts or something??
  2. Are they or have they just played a disproportionate amount of defenses that are so bad that they make it look that way?
  3. Prob my biggest concern today will be the offensive operation in a hostile environment. They haven't shown they can operate at a high level w/the silent count and whatnot. Hoping they worked on that (as much as it can be done in practice) over the bye.
  4. This is very quick and dirty, but FWIW Commanders Opponents (that Daniels has actually played against), Defensive DVOA Rank, and Points Scored Tampa - 14th - 20 points NYG - 16th - 21 points Cincinnati - 20th - 33 points Arizona - 26th - 42 points Cleveland - 17th - 34 points Baltimore - 13th - 23 points Bears are 7th in DVOA
  5. Not even joking. This is a catch and he looks terrible.
  6. Doesn't matter who throws to him. He has horrific catching technique. It pretty much looks like he's trying to drop it while making it look like he's trying to catch it.
  7. yeah i couldn't remember the last time i felt that comfortable at any point in a game...then my next thought was maybe the denver game last year or early in the @ detroit game, both of which they ended up losing LMAO
  8. And they won those games more than convincingly. Bad teams don't all too often win back to back blowouts, regardless of opponent.
  9. It has a lot less to do with that single game and much more with the market expecting Daniels to be out. And that wasn't any old home game, even if the crowd was in their favor. Wait, when were they 3 point underdogs? I saw them getting a point at most, late in the week. Unless I have no idea what the hell you're talking about and it's an entirely different game.
  10. My initial inclination was to say no, just because of the availability issues, but when you put it the way you put it in that final sentence, yeah, I guess so. That's about right. I am hoping we can snag 1-2 solid OL in FA so we can head into the draft in a position of really being able to draft BPA and not feeling inclined to reach on an OL if you can do better.
  11. Yes. This organization needs to stop allocating the majority of the resources to that side of the ball. The *idea* of Crosby is a lot of fun, but the formula needs to be loading up on offense and competency to above avg on defense (which, well, it's already there, TBH...not that I don't want to continue to add to the defense - just not a dude who demands that much of your resources),
  12. You had me convinced Dave Sappelt was gonna be at least somewhat of a thing.
  13. And Caleb gets the FedEx Air and Ground player of the week
  14. Not to speak for Kyle, but I believe he was just talking basic zone coverage stuff with that bolded part. Offensive player crosses into another zone and is now another guy's responsibility and is passed off to him. Simple football 101 stuff. So you don't know if that guy that looks open is actually open in man coverage or if he's just between dudes in zone coverage because of the looks and coverage mixes the defense is presenting.
  15. Credit the Bears for actually doing something cool for once and beginning install at his pro-day and communicating via his QB coach. Who knows if that plays a role in how well he knows the offense but it couldn't have hurt to have a 2-3ish month head start on the basics. And credit to Caleb for being awesome.
  16. Could have easily had a 6th TD too if DJ could've gotten another half a yard or so, haha.
  17. #1 in the league in defensive and overall DVOA (as of last week, and they were on a bye this week). https://ftnfantasy.com/dvoa/nfl/team-total-dvoa This is also a week old but
  18. It's OK because sample size is a problem regardless of what you do. No rules.
  19. To expand on what I already posted... well the first two games having bad grades are really no mystery. QBR accounts for context and leverage and horsefeathers like that, so there's probably something about the 4th game that the formula didn't love. I'm not vouching for it or saying it's a great or terrible stat either way (and, like with most football advanced analytics, given the nature of the game and the sample sizes involved, you need to take it within proper context and/or with a grain of salt), but it's probably no worse than the arbitrarily designed and old passer rating. There's a decent breakdown here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_quarterback_rating#:~:text=The QBR calculation accounts for, expected points added" per play. EDIT - Because I'm a dummy and lost track of the schedule. Said 3rd game when I meant 4th lol.
  20. What?I mean we knew it was bad the first few weeks but it's not very pertinent right now...
  21. Yeah he's on that pace despite it taking him until week 3 to complete a TD pass (not all his fault).
  22. That game was always in reach. Not garbage time. He's talking down multiple scores late and the other defense isn't trying to do anything other than not give up a bomb for a quick TD. The hail Mary yards were kinda garbagey in hindsight because the play didn't score but yeah.
  23. horsefeathers that. take all 3 of the next 3. lfg
