eberflus has, a few times, referenced the preseason snap totals rookies got in the past few years (mentioned stroud, richardson and others specifically, iirc) and suggested they'll look to be somewhere in that range with caleb. i don't want him to play a whole lot, but i do think it's probably a good idea for him to at least have a few reps under his belt if only for the procedural stuff in the huddle and at the line.

a little envious because i haven't been able to think about anything else since sometime in january. summer has been a minor distraction, at least, but camp is pretty much here now.

16-1. They're still going to lose in horsefeathers Lambeau (in an undefeated week 18 no less) because of course they will.

Positive view of it is it gives Caleb a chance to acclimate himself to the league properly before the most important games hit the schedule.

This was a fantastic read.

HBO is pushing for it and it's obvious why. A Bears Hard Knocks would be a home run for them and the alternatives (in terms of teams they can force) are very much not that. I'm pretty sure it's going to happen, especially with the way it's been talked about lately (and I'm usually the first to throw cold water on HK/Bears speculation when it comes up every year).

Too many places for the ball to go, and Caleb is a rookie QB, so they'll always be in "show me" mode about that. This won't be DJ Moore getting force fed the ball by a QB who struggles getting through his reads and throwing on time. He was a fantasy monster last year.

It does matter and it's good. They all appear to be high character guys who don't stir horsefeathers up, and I'm sure that's (at least to some extent) intentional. It sure would seem that way from the way this FO has talked about players since they came in.
