  1. Unlikely but not that crazy. Nothing wrong with hoping it happens nor will I be shocked if he breaks out as he figures things out a little more this year.
  2. I don't think they are hitting Russell there because he hasn't managed to hit himself out of that spot yet. They like him there, which is actually a compliment to Russell. It adds a 3rd bat to set the table for the best hitters in the line up. Getting the pitcher's spot further away from when the #3 and #4 hitters hit is valuable to production. I understand that. But if he's good enough, he's still being hindered by way of significantly fewer PA (and his production is still being wasted - again IF he is good enough) at that spot. Let's not kid anybody. He wouldn't be hitting there if he were thought of as one of the best 4-5 hitters in the lineup.
  3. [tweet] [/tweet] crazy to look at this in present day context
  4. http://www.csnchicago.com/cubs/cubs-believe-albert-almora%E2%80%99s-time-coming-after-kris-bryant-and-kyle-schwarber%E2%80%99s-fast-track if there was any doubt, it looks like it's "official." almora will start this season at iowa.
  5. theo gets his man back
  6. i mean, as far as cubs draftees, i might be missing someone, but it's just bryant, schwarber, and baez right? so it's not really that surprising where that number sits. we've obviously had a ton of guys come up as rookies over the last few years, but that's where the trades (Rizzo, Hendricks, Russell) and IFA (Soler) come in.
  7. i don't get either of these references
  8. you take my posts too seriously if this is what you think is happening i just like making fun of people
  9. yeah, you know me, the ultimate kill joy! otoh, if ridiculing a definition of sandwiches under which subs and italian beef aren't considered sandwiches (not to mention crazies that eat syrup-less waffles), then killjoy i will be.
  10. Theo killing the trade game

  12. I made a thread about this only because I thought Yoervis Medina was on the Cubs (after being on the Cubs and then not being on the Cubs).
  13. the best part was that, iirc, it started because i didn't understand why someone would want to beat up a pitcher for hitting someone in the face instead of being upset/distraught over their friend getting hit in the face
  14. Obviously, you're posting it because that guy is a dummy, but yeah. Either that's a really old post by that guy, or that guy just misread the odds and was looking at the opening odds, which almost match what he's saying. http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/14516801/mlb-latest-2016-world-series-odds-westgate-las-vegas-superbook D.A.V.I.D. ERROR REPORTING SYSTEM i think somebody emptied the coffee pot on his logic board again huh? i got the point of the post. i just questioned the odds themselves so I went to look it up.

  17. whenever i start to question or doubt jorge i just think of his ridiculous postseason and the few weeks before that where he just decided it was time to murder baseballs and pitchers. yep, that's the REAL jorge.
  18. i'm holding out hope that soler's defensive metrics from last year were somewhat of an aberration and that he's just bad instead of super really really bad
  19. lol and the 8th guy actually has done it, even though he's not gonna again
  20. not gonna lie, i've caught myself dreaming on heyward tapping into power a little bit more and being a plus defensive CF to the point that he's like an 8 win player
  21. i never would've guessed that affliction is still in business are ed hardy shirts and trucker hats still sold somewhere? marshalls maybe?
