Yep. And at least we have Goldman from 2015. On the other hand, if White can even manage to find any role in a WR rotation at this point, I'll consider it a success. Oh well. And I agree on Hall. I like him.

The Cubs have reached the status now where players should be willing to go all Heyward and take less to play for us.....right? Meh...the 108 year thing is gone. There's the whole "join a really good team in a fun city" aspect to it but I don't know if that plays as well. I know Theo and Jed made a point of how big of a deal the drought was to FA's, but who really knows how much that really meant numerically..maybe a mil or two AAV on a multi year deal.

That's good news. With Otani, Darvish and possibly Cueto, the Cubs will have some options to replace Arrieta. Given their ages, I'd prefer Otani. Sign Darvish, have him help recruit Otani. Rotation solved. I would hope the back to back WS champs wouldn't need help in recruiting. But I'll still take Darvish.

I said this after the game, but it was kinda perfect in that sense. We got a lot out of him in the playoff run without having to see him in the final out pictures.
