I love how for years they were like "it's too difficult logistically we have to reserve hotel rooms" or something and now they just randomly decide that it's doable now. Glad though. Also glad we could take advantage of the last year of the rule in a backwards way. Trying to imagine a time traveler telling me in the wake of the 02 ASG: "Don't worry, this uproar is a good thing. MLB will now link WS home-field to the ASG winner. Then some year in the future the Cubs make the Series, and the AL having won HFA (and 4 games of DH) ironically helps a Cubs team with the best record in baseball by getting a critical bat back into the lineup, and ultimately breaking the championship drought. Trust me." Clearly the most cockamamie plot line ever. Would've LMAO. Indians would've had it in an even numbered year anyway (had the rule not been changed)...

What ever happened to Stephen Bruno? I always thought he was a guy who could pop up out of nowhere at like 27 and have some competent big league seasons as a hitter. Well, damn, he's already 26.

I really think it's time to let go of the CF Heyward lineups, for now (unless you're advocating for CF Zobrist or CF Baez?) I think the CF should probably be batting 8th no matter who is in there. Of course, Comcast Sports Chicago last night said Soler was a CF. When she did that, I laughed. Then she had somehow forgotten Jay as a CF "option" IIRC.

basically this went through my mind driving into work seeing 3 back to back billboards on 294 from wintrust toasting the 2016 world champs I have a 'moment' at least once a day where it dawns on me that they won the world series and I get a brief rush of endorphins as I think about it, and then I carry on with my day with a smile on my face. i have a license plate frame on my car. every time i walk to it and see it i smile.

There was some level of certainty. Sure but it's still 5 possible places

I would hope Zobrist becomes our leadoff hitter with Schwarber back inthe lineup. Yep. Zobrist followed by some combo of Bryant, Rizzo, Schwarbs. Then Russel. Then some combo of Heyward, Baez, Contreras. not that i care about lineup order, but i'd have contreras ahead of russell pretty easily if we're ranking bats.

mcdermott is so important to the bench scoring too. every time we go to the backups is a huge mixed bag. we need offense off the bench. god damn do i hate losing this game knowing we have to play cleveland on friday

no, they really don't by any definition of that word. but this game sucked. and we really need mcdermott and mcw back. and portis needs to be in the d league. I think they are a 6-8 seed, which is higher than I expected going in. Decent, good even, but not immune to these types of losses. disclaimer: have legit watched maybe 30 minutes of Bulls basketball this year. Rest of the time has been the game on in the background while doing other things. For some reason this team doesn't interest me as much as it should. this is probably the worst loss of the year... it's this or denver. Actually, the knicks game is up there too. the loss to the clippers sucked because they had a big lead against an elite team, but the clippers are really damn good.

Only cleveland and toronto are good in the east. 3 through whatever are up for grabs. boston, charlotte, and atlanta will be comfortably ahead of the bulls in the standings by year end i will gladly wager on this with you. you seem very convinced.

this weird ass game (after for some reason like 5 days off) where they lost to a much worse (partly because shorthanded) team, wherein one of the best rebounding teams in basketball got out-rebounded badly and they shot 35% as a team isn't some sort of referendum on the season. oh and they put them on the line a horsefeathers ton when they are one of the best teams in the league at keeping teams off the line. where are the posts when they're winning games by double digits routinely (edit - this is probably overstating the point differential - but they've had lots of big leads, some big wins, and have mostly lost close, with a couple exceptions)? they've played like a top 10 team on both offense and defense this year. there aren't many teams who can make that claim.

Tonight should be a blowout win against a shorthanded and tired Lakers team. Hopefully no weird trap game crap with the Cavs game coming up. Can't believe we had so many damn days off in a row. So strange.
