  1. I'm surprised Polanco was a net zero on defense. Damn. But there you go.
  2. [tweet] [/tweet] Seems Arrieta/Boras are motivated to talk extension when they have the arbitration talks, though that says nothing about how motivated we are or aren't. I'd still keep him if some kind of reasonable solution came up, but it's definitely an odd thing to navigating after a pretty good but not great 2016, and what his expectations were after an insane 2015.
  3. Shanahan/Fangio 2017
  4. If what you're saying here is that your seats are better than joe schmoe thinks they are because of their positioning, I'm riiiiiight there with you. Which is why I want to move to the bleachers. The rubes overpay for those, and when I want to go to a game to actually enjoy it, I'll swap them out for grandstands day of. Yep, I'm with you guys. I have very good 200 level terrace box seats, but people typically won't pay more than they would for terrace reserve 20 rows back. Everyone who we sell tickets to directly seems genuinely surprised when they get to the game and realize how good the seats are. The only thing worse margin-wise is Upper Deck Box. I love upper deck seats, buy I avoided getting Season Tickets there because I know they just don't sell well. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk On the other hand, you get a view just as good as the rear field boxes for terrace box prices, so it's not the worst thing.
  5. what, he doesn't like boring stuffy self importance?
  6. Yeah, but Trumbo's defense brought that down a lot. We're not counting that. Soler will probably walk more, too. And I don't think Javy can pull off what he did again. That was a freakish and probably flukish defensive contribution. My basic idea here is that Javy had a lot go right (both purposely and accidentally) to get to his WAR total and will be exposed as his role is expanded. I have no idea if what he did defensively is repeatable but I definitely doubt it. (FWIW, I voted Javy, but I think it's a lot closer than this poll result suggests)
  7. Reminder that McCutchen is coming off a 0.7 win season, is two years older, owed $14M next year ($15M team option for 2018 - granted 1 year + option limits the risk on the upside play but i think the nationals are in a place where they need more certainty), defensively graded out a lot worse than Eaton's bad CF season, while Eaton is coming off a 6 win season (yes, he played RF but he still played like a near 4 win player when he was meh to bad in center in 14-15 - possibly injured) owed $18.4M total for the next 3 seasons, with team options for the next two years totaling $20M.

  9. Not to mention the Mets literally just had one with more upside, upside that was highly realized, and we saw it blow to smithereens before our eyes.
  10. The chance that Rodon is just no good, and at least one of Gilotio, Lopez, or Kopech are injured is so high that i'm just planning to delight in their fans' tears. As a fantasy owner of his, I feel like I should point out that Rodon took a step forward and was quite good in the second half this year. 9.5 k/9 and 2.7 BB/9
  11. Good and insanely cheap.
  12. See my sig...hopefully it'll help him with the offseason overhaul
  13. Besides for the one who has been worth about 13fWAR in 433 games over the past 3 seasons? Also due less than $20M for the next 3 years. (that's about a 4.5ish win pace per 150 games) Worth noting that Steamer does not like him all that much next year, though.
  14. too bad we didn't' have 2-3 star players we could've traded when theo took over.
  15. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
  16. Wowwwww
  17. If someone wants to hand their bullpen ace/closer role to someone still rehabbing and throwing in the high 80's, well, then go nuts I guess. Is this not crazy to anyone else?

  20. But, no, you don't because he's likely one of their best 2-3 relievers.

  22. Holy crap Edwards in Iowa?! What in the hell?
