  1. http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/9964252 Vic Carucci piece warning the Colts and fans not to underestimate the Bears' passing attack, which is "better than advertised."
  2. http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/9964283 Phil Simms piece comparing himself vs. Elway in Super Bowl XXI to Rex vs. Peyton this year. EDIT - One parallel he fails to recognize... Wasn't Simms's career derailed early on by some major injuries for a couple of years until he was finally able to stay healthy (and, IIRC, pretty much avoid major injury the rest of his career)?
  3. Both teams are obligated to be a part of this media circus. They aren't allowed to get their butts on the practice field or the video room at those times.
  4. Don't know if this was posted. They were talking about it on Boers and Bernstein today... Finally, a piece (from outside Chicago) that's actually fair to Rex. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/29/sports/football/29grossman.html?_r=1&ref=football&oref=slogin
  5. Rex and Berrian on NFL Total Access right now.
  6. Then what do you base your opinon on, their astrological signs? Even the most saber-inclined fan (myself included) will admit that there isn't a tried and true, reliable way to measure defensive ability yet for baseball players. There are some decent metrics popping up, but nothing that's nearly as widely accepted or respected as some of the offensive metrics.
  7. And a linebacker that can stay with their skilled tight ends. And their fast, shifty RBs that line up as WRs.
  8. He's saying that they probably won't go Cover 2 against the Colts? Or Man?
  9. I actually made a reference to that exact exchange earlier in this thread (I think) when somebody mentioned Pete Rozelle. That was classic.
  10. It started out as a hypothetical discussion that the Bears would be the 8th should they win on Sunday.
  11. I don't know. I'm not sure why you'd say take them out... The Yankees and Lakers championships seem like forever ago too. They still count. Plus, right now, Chicago sports are in pretty good, if not great, shape. The Bulls, Bears, and (dare I say) Cubs all could conceivably be playing for their championships at the end of their respective seasons this year (one, obviously, already is)... It doesn't hurt that things aren't looking quite so up for the Sox anymore, either.
  12. Just curious... and I hate to take any pride whatsoever in the Sox World Series, but if the Bears win this weekend, that'll be 8 major professional sports championships since 1991. I'm sure I'm missing someone, but can any other city top that?
  13. Just wondering, what type of store did you see it in? I wouldn't mind picking one up. Wonder if my local Walgreen's might have one in the magazine section.
  14. That's it? Looked like a seaon ender on TV. Rex Grossman's initial diagnosis in 2005 during the halftime show of that preseason game was a sprained ankle. In 2004 it was a knee sprain. I'd imagine it will take some further examination (i.e. MRI) to really tell what happened to Big Ben.
  15. Ugh, I'm so jealous. My friend from Miami's roommate works at the Hilton that the Bears are staying at. He's going to let my friend (niether of them are Bears fans, BTW) come to the post-game party at the hotel to "help out." Lucky bastard. I asked him to grab whatever he could get away with for me.
  16. First thing I'm buying if they win is that DVD. Then, hopefully, a navy SB Champs t-shirt.
  17. Of course, Peyton IS prominently on the cover of SI. Plus, he posted these in the Saints thread and it didn't seem to hurt too much.
  18. A good amount of people think the Bears victory was a turnover-fueled fluke. They think the Saints just gave us the game with their mistakes.
  19. I can't wait until the Bears shut some more idiots up on February 4th. It's one thing to favor the Colts. That's fine, but the blatant disregard for the Bears' chances in this game is flat out ridiculous. I want the Bears to shut some more of these jerkoffs up.
  20. TBS, unless they've got a new contract with MLB or something this year, only does Braves game. They're to the Braves what WGN is to the Cubs. My best guess is those 2:55 games are the second half of a Fox Saturday double header...
  21. Push. Yeah, I tend to agree. If someone has a edge here, it's probably pretty slight. I would have to agree-the RB's are dead even. Maybe I'm being a homer, but I think the Bears RBs are better...but thats not taking a lot away from the Colts RBs who I think are good. I think Jones and Addai are about a push, but I think Benson is better then Rhodes Agree completely.
  22. I don't see why they would cut him. What's the point? Every team needs a #3 QB.
  23. no waye u trade gordon or deng for gasshoel looool give em noc, pj, and the knicks pick
