For some reason, the team that is 5-4 in its last 9 games, 2-2 in its last 4, is considered by ESPN to be the team that is playing the best of late. I don't get it myself. I guess it has to do with the fact that they beat the then ESPN favorite, Cowboys, and the most recent ESPN favorite, Eagles. But we're talking about a team that's in the bottom half of the league in rushing yards per carry and per game. They are also at the bottom of the league in rushing yards per carry and game given up. They aren't on any sort of hot streak. The whole things seems to be based on the idea that they'll pass their way to glory against the team which has given up the fewest passing yards per attempt this year, and has allowed the 3rd worst QB rating. It's not that I can't see the Saints winning. They are good. They just aren't any reasonable person's idea of what a favorite should be. It's all hype and nonsense. QFT... I'm really hoping that we'll have a little luck on our side and have one of our 3 or 4 turnover games (which hasn't happened in a while), get a few short field or defensive scores so that the Bears wind up winning something like 31-17. It's certainly not the most unlikely thing in the world. If not that, at least a 10 pt win, just to make all of these idiots who think the Saints are clear favorites look like idiots. I realize that the game is a toss up going in. I just want the Bears to make the idiots in the media who don't realize this look really, really stupid. Obviously, I just want the Bears to win. But I would like it even more if the Bears would shove it down the whole country's throat. The Saints love is making me sick.
