Looks like it's the new Sun-Times beat writer for the Cubs, Gordon Wittenmyer.

It's conjecture. We need to know better than to take as facts things from these writers that aren't in quotes (or at least backed by a quote).

Why do you not have a post count? Weird

This guy is a prime candidate for a ban.

    Huh?

If Prior doesn't throw a single pitch, we have an excellent shot at the division. I'd say we have an okay shot at the division if Prior doesn't throw a single pitch. Definitely not excellent, by any means. If Prior pitches like 2003 or even 2004-5, we're probably a lock to win it.

1 - I think they were mostly kidding around about that...although I wouldn't be too surprised to see him cut it anyway after hearing his own comments. 2 - I'm pretty sure that was from the first day of workouts. ;)

we'd all look fat standing next to the new kerry. i'm more worried about the horrible jumps someone was getting in the OF practice. I'm not sure, but I think that was Pie.

Is that Kerry messing around behind him? Looks like his face. Looks like his glove. Look like Adidas spikes... looks more like miller, who, incidentally, looks a lot like kerry. on second inspection, yes, it probably is wood. he's lost a ton of weight as well. What's with the normal size calves on Prior? I think he let up on training them since the whole Achilles deal. They've been smaller for a couple years now. Still, they'd probably look bigger with the stirrups showing.

    Well, Scott Eyre's still fat.

And if Prior returns to 2003 form? Best team in the NL? Probably. It's pretty crazy how big of an x-factor Mark is, but he would instantly make our rotation tons better.

Assuming everyone is healthy? Z, Prior, Hill, Lilly, Gooz I like. They aren't going to pay Marquis $7million to not be in the rotation. Like it or not, it's just reality I'm not so sure about that. I believe when Lou says that he's going to have the top 5 guys in the rotation. Nah, Derwood is right. Marquis is going to have to impressively crap the bed for a good amount of time for him to get knocked out of the rotation.

Like it or not, it's just reality I'm saying what should be done in the situation you presented. Not what will be done. Big difference, especially when talking about the Cubs.

+ Gooz Does Guzman really even have that potential anymore after all the injuries and whatnot? He did show some good stuff at times last year but overall I've kinda been considering him an afterthough in the Cubs rotational plans. Reports are that he got his command and his curveball back over the winter. Fleita likes what he's been seeing. And his change should have improved too, you could tell he was rusty and feeling his way back last season. That K/BB ratio in Venezuela was sexy. Definitely. The fact that he pitched however many innings in winterball, though, probably can't bode well for his chances to be an effective starter for most or all of this season, can it?

The AP caption says it is Kerry. Booyah... Dave - 1 Sulley - 0

Definitely. I find myself really hoping that Guzman can take Marquis spot eventually to be a solid #5 in that scenario. Reminds me of 2003 and how I wanted Cruz to have Estes's spot before ST even started.

    I feel the same way.

Is that a goatee Prior trying to grow? If it was maybe he's finally trying to "man up" this yr. I think he's just going for the Todd Walker 5 o'clock shadow look.

Muskat said the rotation was Z/Lilly/Marquis with everyone else competing for the other 2 spots. link "Muskat said" and a quote from Piniella are two very different pieces of information.
