  1. Duke just punching themselves in the dick over and over.
  2. Altmyer on pace to get sacked 12 times today.
  3. Both lines look horrible. Duke gave up 163 rushing yards to Elon last week. -6 to Illinois after a quarter.
  4. And just like that, Duke muffs a punt to give the Illini excellent field position.
  5. Ugly start for Illinois.
  6. Brett at BN also pointed out that if he finishes top two, this year counts as a full year of service time. Same goes for Shaw.
  7. Agreed, but I wonder how seriously they pursue one. They have a $6 million option on Rea. Would it be too surprising if their April/May plan was the quintet they’re currently sending out there with Wiggins and Steele as midseason reinforcements? I don’t love how quickly they’d need to dip into Wicks/Assad/Brown territory (depending on which of them is still in the org) if there’s an early season injury, but come June/July, that’s a strong group.
  8. Man, next year’s rotation could be fun whenever Wiggins is ready and Steele is healthy.
  9. I know the division is mostly out of reach but still nice to see the Brewers take one on the chin today against a bad Giants offense. Especially satisfying to see them waste a Peralta start.
  10. @gflore34 was shoveling dirt on him like three innings into his career.
  11. It does feel like this roster is getting to the place where you can trade for an edge. With QB, 3 WRs, hopefully 4 OL spots and 2/3 CBs addressed for 3-4 years, I’d push some draft chips in on Parsons or Henderson.
  12. Yeah, Sweat as DE1 and then a significant drop off to DE2 is a huge problem. We’ll see what Allen is able to get out of this line, but they really need Dayo or Booker to surprise.
  13. Yeah with the difficult schedule and a new offense I’m not expecting 10+ wins or anything. But like UMFan said, the coaching staff is setting such a high standard. My hope is that the deeper we get into the season the more we see things come together, with 8 or 9 wins as a reasonable expectation. Then 2026 is when the Bears really start to cook. The defense feels incredibly thin to me everywhere but DT. That the RB group kind of hinges on a 7th round pick to complement Deandre Swift scares me a bit, and it’s unfortunate that none of the LT options really separated themselves. It obviously still all comes down to Caleb, though. If he’s able to take advantage of the improved OLine, talented and deep pass catching group, and seemingly at worst competent at best very good coaching group, it’ll be a fun season,
  14. I kinda miss the days when this place was a barren wasteland but was mostly free of maga shitheads.
  15. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SamuAs00.htm
  16. Theo Benedet, starting left tackle, would be a pretty hilarious outcome to this positional battle.
  17. If he doesn’t get credit for the HR he clobbered on Sunday or for his success against lefties throughout the season and if we’re classifying singles with 100 MPH exit velocity as slappy, yeah I agree he’s been terrible.
