  1. Little known fact: Caratini translates to "tiny carrot" Lets sweep these fools :O
  2. Seriously. Pretty clear except for right over top the stadium, and the cell is just sitting there freaking slowly growing. It is just now looking like its starting to die down, though. On the plus side, it allowed me to see Harrison tie the game in milwaukee. Maybe we'll take over first a day sooner now.
  3. I was at work so didnt see it/couldnt ask at the time, but schwarber hit a double in the first with Contreras at 2nd, and he didnt score. What happened?
  4. I wonder if they briefed Quintana on his responsibility of giving up 2-3 runs in the 1st
  5. I'm ok with trading Almora, not Happ. Yeah, im seeing Happ as way more valuable than Almora. I cant see Gray being traded with Almora as the headliner, and i wouldnt be willing to trade Happ for Gray. Almora+ lottery tickets for Doolittle, though, i think is fair. We might need to add a bigger piece to that. Doolittle is Plan A-Z for me. Add him to this roster and i think ou team is better than last year's, and extremely difficult to beat in the playoffs
  6. I like this team when they play well. I hope quintana is good today otherwise i will immediately hate this trade.
  7. Is that the team thats ahead of us in the standings right now? Meh, who cares who theyre playing.
  8. This is a really good trade for both teams. I like it a lot. That contract for Quintana is so sexy. If we wanted to, we could probably trade him at the 2019 deadline and recover a lot of what we just gave up after getting 2 full years out of him. We probably won't want to, though, because he's kind of awesome. I want Doolittle now. Edit: christ, i love this trade so much more now that i know it was broken by katyperrysbootyhole and confirmed by wetbutt23
  9. I want a dominant lefty for the bullpen almost as much as i want a starter. That Duensing/Harper matchup scared me enough last night, it would really scare me if it happened in the playoffs. In the playoffs Montgomery would have been there, but itd be real nice if Montgomery was the number 2 lefty option in the playoff bullpen and Duensing wasnt on the playoff roster. I think Gray/Doolittle is the best we can do unless we start getting real creative with 3 or 4 team trades.
  10. Im stuck watching the Marlins feed but they said they hadnt recieved word of injury. But we have Contreras in right and Bryant in Center so i doubt they did it for no reason.
  11. Somehow as soon as I saw the name "Mackenzie Gore" i knew that he was a LHP. He's real lucky he's awesome at baseball or that first name woulda been hell to live with through school.
  12. Mega trade cubs get Yelich, Gray and Doolittle. Cubs give up....a lot.
  13. Only Javy left on the bench and Lackey could accidentally get a hit. Nobody on base, I dont mind it.
  14. But again, ignoring results, Jay vs. RHP was a lot more optimal than Almora vs. RHP or Schwarber vs. LHP. If the Cubs offense was hitting, there's no way he would have done that, but with the bases loaded 1 out in the 6th inning in a tie game with a horribly slumping offense, I don't mind Joe wanting to give the Cubs the best possible matchup in that situation. Plus it takes the worst hitter (currently) and fielder on the team out of the game. I must have missed why Contreras got into the game though...I didn't understand that. Jay hits lefties well, could have skipped Almora and gone straight to him. You have to know theyre bringing in a righty if Almora bats. I dont mind the way it way it went down, though.
  15. OK I get it we lose, but lets score one so that I don't have to worry about getting shutout for a whole series tomorrow.
  16. Maybe they're playing like crap against good teams on purpose so that they won't be taken seriously in the playoffs.
  17. MLB rule # something something: Once a baserunner makes contact with a base safely, a "safety zone" exists 2 feet around and one foot above the base for a duration of 5 seconds in the event that the player's momentum takes him off the base momentarily. Seems better than punishing offenses because players can't stop on a dime.
  18. Interference on Heyward while running to first on a slow chopper up the first base line, fielded by the pitcher. It was a legit call, but he would have been safe interference or not which makes it kind of annoying. Pretty annoying at bat all around, missed a 3 run homer by a few feet and then that happened.
  19. It might be tough to get to 80 wins before September 1st, I guess.
