  1. I think this is why he'll get another shot to pick a QB if this Trubisky thing doesn't work out. Many tied his fate to Trubisky when he was drafted 3 years ago, but the rest of his moves have been pretty phenomenal. And while QB is the most important position to get right, you also have to remember he made the pick with John Fox as HC, maybe even without Fox knowing about it happening. I think he'll get another chance to work with Nagy in picking the next QB, if necessary. I could be mis-remembering, but around the time Nagy was hired wasn't there a narrative that he had been just as enamored with Trubisky as the bears were before the draft? I even remember shots of him with a looney toons-esque face staring at Mitch like a t-bone at the combine or a pro day workout when he was with KC
  2. Pathetic. Stop turtling on 1st and 2nd down... The o-line isn't good enough to take over the 2nd half and cram it down their throat.
  3. It wasn't even the staring him down... How the hell was that throw EVER gonna be a TD
  4. So who is a free agent this year? A competent QB gives them a chance in 2020. Colin Kaepernick
  5. Nice 2 minute drill... :good:
  6. Actually saw Trubisky go through a progression and check down once or twice on that drive. Hopefully he continues to do so. Good kick by Piniero
  7. Yeah, his history implies this power is a bit of an aberration, but I'll definitely take it. Having said that, I didn't really pay much attention to him in the minors, and the swing looks like he should hit for more than he has. Any scouts think he may have power potential that's just never materialized so far?
  8. According to nfl.com they just gave Whitehair a 5 year extension... 52 million, 27 guaranteed.
  9. According to NBC Sports, the Bears have released Fry. I'm still guessing they sign a kicker from another team over Piniero before the season starts.
  10. I'd be good with Donatell for the potential continuity of scheme, but if it's outside talent I'd like Vance Joseph. Not a great stint in Denver as HC, but a good history of defensive scheming for opponents, and has adapted his defense to fit the personnel consistently throughout his career
  11. The team leading the league in QB pressures/hits being the 3rd worst passing defense is quite the paradox
  12. Special teams in general has been pretty atrocious this year
  13. Yup. Looking good, other than holding on too long for that strip
  14. Maybe he just didn't want to attend training camp?
  15. After last night's 4 hit game he's up to .337/.376/.515 in 109 AB since coming back from the DL, good for a 138 wRC+ during that time. This small taste of what we thought we were getting when we first signed him has been a breath of fresh air, let's hope it continues
  16. Eh not too bad Next years 2nd round pick is enormous if this team isn't a 9+ win team this year. It's okay, next year we'll just trade our 3rd AND the 2nd from 2020 to move back up again... :barf: I DO like Miller, but wish they hadn't done it
  17. I'm all for doing whatever you like with this year's picks if there's a guy they really like, but I HATE giving up future year picks. That's how we got into potentially needing/wanting to trade back up into the 3rd in the first place. I'd rather we ended the cycle and started going the other way... Trading down more regularly and stocking up on more picks than we came in with
  18. Apparently Josh Allen has joined the line of public figures with a VERY regrettable twitter history... We'll see how it effects his stock tonight, I suppose. But that might be one less QB picked before 8, which is a bummer.
  19. Almost literally the same player as Josh Bellamy (I'm one of the rare Bears fans that don't hate him). 4th/5th WR who can play well on special teams. That's what I figured. I don't hate Bellamy, I just wish he would drop less passes when he gets forced into to receiving lineup. I'd this guy drops less, I'll like him more than Bellamy. Still would like an upgrade at the slot. Agreed. Maybe Christian Kirk will fall to the 2nd round...
  20. I'm with this. Don't the Bears have CB issues? 8 is a great spot for Denzel Ward. Many "experts" consider Nelson the best player in the draft Hiestand being around makes me very comfortable potentially taking Nelson that high. He knows better than anyone what the kid is, and what he isn't. If they take him at 8, then hiestand signed off on it
  21. Sad Boy Hendricks became a thing in my home last season... And Lackey's been Chompers since before he was a cub
  22. My Sad-boy Hendricks bobblehead has shipped!!!
