  1. Iowa tied at 4 in the 7th Pie is 1 for 3 with a sacrifice Patterson is 0 for 4 with a K Soto is 1 for 3 and was replaced by Reyes
  2. Smart move, we wouldn't be able to get Garza for him unless he was a PTBNL
  3. I gotta think that they scheduled the kU game so early cause they didn't want to give fans a longer time to tailgate (i.e. get wasted). Not that 11 doesn't give you enough time to get plenty of beers in you. They did it so they could be on National TV. Yeah, that might have been another reason. But it's not like 11AM games are the only ones that are televised. kU wasn't originally supposed to be Thanksgiving weekend though. They moved it there for the TV, so they're going to accomodate ABC with the time too. EDIT: Link Same thing next year too, although obviously the time isn't set.

  5. Gateway Redbirds is saying that ESPN is reporting San Diego.
  6. Oh man, I remember that HR he hit in Florida in the NLCS. He absolutely torched that one.
  7. Maurice Drew, RB, JAX
  8. The BA prospect handbook didn't seem to be that high on Kotteras's defense. They didn't make him out to be a liability, but there were multiple negatives they pointed out(size and throwing arm IIRC, don't have the book in front of me) that gave me the impression they thought of him as an average defender.
  9. What was the contingency to the Cardinals rehabbing Carpenter?
  10. Mulder's velocity was wayyy down in his return. I don't think the risk/reward is any better than just letting a younger guy pitch. No thank you.
  11. 6'4", 250lbs...and 19-years-old? That's a big kid. Does he have weight control issues? That's roughly Zambrano sized.
  12. Zisk is considered the best hitting instructor in the system right? Right above Joshua?
  13. Before After
  14. Dempster 2006 Career ERA 4.45 4.79 WHIP 1.52 1.55 BAA .260 .268 K/9 7.75 7.41 K/BB 1.69 1.57
  15. Theriot was the much better minor league hitter, in addition to being the superior defender. Well, neither is really a prospect. Theriot is 26 and is a minor-league ecksteinish player with versatility and solid defense and Bynum just sucks. Right. Theriot has the ceiling of a utility player. Bynum's is less than that, also known as someone not good enough to play in the major leagues.
  16. Just curious, why do you prefer Theriot to Bynum so much? They are the same age and neither is truly a prospect anyway. Have you watched Bynum single handely LOSE 2 games for the Cubs the past week. I don't like his defense, I'll admit Theriot's better defensively. My point is, why is Theriot a prospect and Bynum is not? Theriot was the much better minor league hitter, in addition to being the superior defender.
  17. Pittsburgh and Tampa now tied for the #2 pick, with the Cubs 1.5 games behind them. We're now 6 games behind the Royals for the #1.
  18. ground ball to third, the 3B made a great dive, but couldn't make the throw (Hesitated, looked like he thought about second. Cedeno is done. Send him back to AAA and try someone else for a while. For 5 games? 5 games? It's been more then 5 games... Including tonight, Iowa has 6 games left.

  20. Ohman in, Pagan in CF Thanks, Gameday was going into a conniption trying to figure out that wild switch.
  21. Leaving Wuertz in is not a smart decision. He threw 21 pitches last inning and 18 last night.
  22. Just for Fred: The Juan Pierre OPS-a-meter is up to .713
