  1. Bowen rung up on a pitch that was closer to the foul pole than the plate.
  2. Tulowitzki threw that like it was his off arm. What a weak toss.
  3. There's no way in the world that's not a balk. It's such a crock what LHP get away with.
  4. Lee's IsoP 2000: .226 2001: .192 2002: .224 2003: .237 2004: .226 2005: .327 2006 pre-injury: .296 2006 post-injury: .152 2007: .171 That's why you would trade Lee, and it's why it doesn't make sense to say with absolute certainty that you shouldn't trade him, or he's an untouchable, or something similar.
  5. I saw a dude with a Feilhaber jersey on the Red Line on Sunday, I thought it was curious that he would pick him for the jersey. Me and my buddy were walking down the Mag Mile towards Millennium park shortly after the game was over. Since we had no way of finding out who won, we had to check the body language of the Mexican fans coming from Soldier Field. Needless to say, we were pretty optimistic after seeing 2 dozen Mexican fans that were varying degrees of solemn, sad, and downright pissed. We finally found a couple guys with US Soccer stuff on and found out the score for sure.
  6. Orlly? He had one good year in 2005 and you think that makes him a world beater? His numbers this year so far are way past his 2004 numbers in pure ugliness. I think we should trade for him immediately. Would love to have a guy on our staff that has a 5.46 ERA, avgs. less than 6 IP start, gives up more H than IP, an oppo sluggo of 515 and has a FIP of 5.86 (although his xFip is 5.65). This guy should not be in a ML starting rotation. But sure sign me up today. Before this year the guy had 400+ innings of above average performance(105 ERA+). You are wrong.
  7. He's hoping no one will have to throw it to Floyd.
  8. This is going to be a "Co-Chief Resident Dorian" thing, isn't it? You're begging for someone to edit your title from "Hall of Fame" to "Tranny." I think I'd prefer "Co-Chief Resident Dorian".
  9. He's an above average fielder at all 3 OF positions, and he consistently produces well for an OF spot offensively(switch hitter too, although he's a good bit better hitting LH). Buy low.
  10. This is going to be a "Co-Chief Resident Dorian" thing, isn't it?
  11. Performance and stuff wise, Eyre is the 5th best reliever on the team, behind Dempster, Wuertz, Howry, and Marmol. Use him accordingly.
  12. Not being great starters does not mean they have no business being in the majors. That's an incredibly stupid post. Soto had a good 2004 in AA, a good 2006 in AAA and is having a very good 2007 in AAA. Catchers generally take a little longer to develop. It's conceivable Soto could put up numbers between his pre 2007 minor league average .262/.344/.371 and his current numbers .324/.397/.555. If he managed to put up even his pre 2007 minor league average, he'd be doing better than what 11 NL teams are getting from their catcher spot. Soto has always been young for his league too, this year was the first year he's been at an age appropriate level. He's always been able to take a walk, and he's a very good defender to boot.
  13. Wow, you sure know how to fish. Funny thing is, everyone's so busy wondering about Lincecum, that the equally insane inclusion of Cliff Lee gets ignored.
  14. Whoever it was from Atlanta we rocked twice in a week, the dude who gave up the 3 HR to Soriano on Friday. Can't remember his name.
  15. Thread in Polls
  16. Oh how I love the audible "let's go Cubbies" at an away ballpark.
  17. Perhaps he would've had a better at bat had he not been put in a pitcher's count by the horrible bunt call.
  18. It definitely adds future value. Assuming we would've gotten the draft pick for losing Barrett, it would've come in a similar spot to where Burke was taken just last year. Then we have control of Bowen for 3 more years after this year too. The question is really whether Bowen/Hill/Soto can be as good as Barrett for the remainder of the year. If they can, it's definitely a good trade considering we have Bowen beyond this year. If they don't, then it's personal preference how much the added asset beyond this year is worth the decline in production for the remainder of this year to determine how good/bad the deal is.
