  1. 2007 total: 22.5% LD%, .411 BABIP June: .324 BABIP June numbers include today, overall numbers don't.
  2. There's no way in the world Hawpe is better than Dunn or Burrell. He's useless against LHP.
  3. Tough call. I had to vote against CT's extended leave of absence after he went away to school.
  4. That was far from "debunking a myth". Jon gave an alternative explanation for the way those splits broke down(career year in Washington, not very good in Texas, not enough ABs in other spots), but I think that ignores that his spot in the order could very likely be a causal factor in that. After 4 teams in 4 divisions in both leagues, I think it would be foolish to cast it aside altogether.
  5. He's 18 all season long, turns 19 in October.
  6. I really think you guys are selling Hoffpauir's ability short 312/350/889 isnt terrible for AAA. Was 268/362/956 last year in AA. Would like higher OPS, but he hasnt shown lots of pop...more of a line drive hitter. He's twenty-seven years old.
  7. If we seriously hit them with a deal like Hoffpauir, Howry, and Cotts/Cherry or some other young pitcher (not Guzman or Marmol or any of our current starters), how in God's name would Schuerholz turn that down? Well there are lots of ways. He could hang up the phone if Hendry called, block him if Hendry tried to IM a proposal, kick him in the nuts if he did it in person.... In all seriousness though, that's a horrible, horrible deal. Hoffpauir is a non-prospect, roster filler. Howry is what he is, a reliever, and Cotts or Cherry aren't quite that. Then we're adding a less than prime pitching prospect to get Saltalamacchia or McCann? I'd imagine that any discussions for Salty or McCann would begin with Schuerholz asking for Pie.
  8. I'm pretty sure my first post was about trading for Lew Ford. Those were dark, unenlightened days.
  9. That was halfway through tonight's game. Up to the millisecond line: .326/.408/.465/.873
  10. His other two pinch-hitters are Cesar Izturis and Jacque Jones. So who's our catcher if Hill gets hurt? Marmol?
  11. Dempster's gone three straight games, and has thrown 54 pitches in those outings. Please go to Wuertz.
  12. I've never seen a guy bat flip after a single before, hahah He's Esteban German, you know that's going to be the highlight of his career. He'll tell his grandkids about breaking up that no-no.
  13. oh geez, we turned an 11 pitch leadoff walk to the pitcher into a 13 pitch inning
  14. Should've done the pop-up slide to knock that ball down.
  15. yeah, you could tell that len wanted to get off the topic for a solid two minutes, but damned if bob didn't go on talking about what it's like to get hit in the balls I was actually talking about Bob's hilariously awful segue into the Sharpie ad, then him yelling the "WRITE OUT LOUD". But it's a tribute to him as a character that there was a similar moment so soon afterward.
  16. haha Bob, you may be an awful analyst, but at least you're entertaining
  17. Since his recall: .317/.404/.463/.867
