  1. Handlebar McSkullet Only 1 T.
  2. That has to be a fluke. If he's really that bad, then they're going to be hit hard, and/or at least into play. Figures that something outrageously unlucky like this would screw up our pen's rest for the whole series.
  3. 29 pitches that inning, unreal Okay, try to get through 5 then.
  4. Crimeny people, it's the game thread, let people vent their frustrations with irrational rants.
  5. Opponents are hitting .333 off the Rook on first pitches. Probably just reacting to the scouting report. Everyone hits better on the first pitch. That doesn't mean everyone should swing at the first strike they see, especially considering the situation.
  6. That's a terrible first pitch swing by Lee. You've never seen this guy before, the first 2 guys go down meekly, and you're coming off a marathon top half of the inning. Take a strike.
  7. Well, I guess the goal for Hill now is to try to make it to the 6th, even if he doesn't make it through the 6th. Not allowing any more runs in that time frame would be good too. Time to put up a bunch on Gallardo.
  8. Cedeno trounces Cliff Barmes(haha) performance-wise too.
  9. How did Onyewu fare during the Euro season? I'd be hesitant to have him fall from "stud defender/central back of the future" to "oaf off the bench" based just on the Gold Cup.
  10. Law? On the Bulls? No thanks. I like our undersized combo guard better. I would've been fine with Julian Wright, but I prefer Noah. Law would've made a nice 3rd guard that can score a bit and capably trigger the offense, especially if Thabo moved more towards the 3 if Nocioni was dealt for post help. He would've been an immediate upgrade over Duhon's 25 mpg, IMO. Even more so compared to Noah, who won't have that type of PT to step into. Brown + Thomas only got ~35 mpg, and I can't see Thomas not getting the majority of those minutes between him and Noah.
  11. Aside from trading the pick, Law IV and Wright are two guys I could see people logically preferring to Noah.
  12. Barrett got off to an awful start offensively, but he was clearly not a good bet to continue to be that bad. He was having some terrible luck BABIP-wise, and at the time of the trade this was his line in June: .302/.370/.476.
  13. Hopefully the emergence of Marshall has put an end to any more Dempster to the rotation shenanigans.
  14. My goodness, the Blazers are just drafting circles around people. Imagine if they had kept Byars, they could go 2 deep like this: Jack/Green Roy/Byars Miles?/McRoberts? Randolph/Aldridge/Magloire Oden/Aldridge EDIT: I didn't realize that New York deal actually happened. So then it's Jack/Francis/Green Roy/Fernandez/Finnish dude Miles?/Fernandez?/McRoberts?/Finnish dude? Aldridge/Frye/McRoberts Oden/Frye
  15. Green would make Duhon expendable since they seem to not like him. Fits the similar profile of a college PG that won a ton, and does a little bit of everything.
  16. Where's that ignore switch at again? I think that will go in effect for one month. Come on, Adam can be a servicable NBA role player. Not tons of upside, but he can stick around for a while with the right fit. He's much more athletic than he gets credit for (whiteness will do that), has a good pull-up game with a streaky outside shot and plays solid defense. He also knows how to flop and get himself to the line where he's deadly. He's off the charts for any teams looking at character/intangiables and will play any role asked of him, which is important when you're talking about a guy on the end of the bench. He's a max effort guy but can play under control and if there's anything left to develop, he'll get it out. You can get Haluska's skillset without using a draft pick on him. White guys who can shoot a little but aren't fast enough to penetrate against or defend NBA guards are not rare.
  17. Richardson for Wright happened. And the Blazers take Byars, kudos to them. Whoops, looks like he's a 76er now. New Orleans wastes their 2nd rounder on Adam Haluska.
  18. The Cubs have the 3rd best pythag record in the NL(tied with Mets and Dodgers), only one loss behind the Brewers.
  19. I can't believe we're 40 picks in and Byars is still out there.
  20. wow, Landry is an awful pick Stephen A. Smith is so funny being that emphatic since he's wrong.
  21. Walrond got torched and Iowa trails 10-5. EPatt 2/4 Cedeno 1/4, HR, K Murton 3/4 Soto 0/4, 2 K Colvin was 1/4 for Tennessee.
  22. That's poor logic, just because he got 2 banners doesn't validate a pick...otherwise Green and Humphrey would be lotto picks. (Keep in mind I like the pick...and I HATE Noah.) it's better than "Noah sucks" with no further explanation No, it's not. okay, this is ridiculous. Here: Michael Jordan sucked great argument, right? no better than: B.J. Armstrong is a legend, look at his rings.
