  1. I'd rather have a guy who might hit .280-.300 with a .350-.380 OBP (just potential not that he will or I expect him to) and every single hit is a single than watch the crap that has been going out there evry day lately. I can't imagine the catcher position has been much better than .200/.250/.300 since Barrett got traded. Guess who's been worse than a .550 OPS this year? Kendall.
  2. Finally got it to work. Kendall was dead last of all qualified hitters in IsoP each of the last 2 years, and is 3rd from last this year.
  3. Well, he accumulated those numbers when he was good and on the Pirates Yeah. But are you really ready to just conclude that he's done based off of one bad year out of twelve? Seriously, Kendall has been a good player for 11 out of 12 years. I'm not going to deny his suckiness this year, but I'm also not going to assume that it will continue (especially when you look at his last month and a half). No, he's been bad for several years. He hasn't had an OPS+ of 100 or better since 2004. No he hasn't. Just because he doesn't hit for power doesn't make him bad. I don't think you understand how few extra bases Kendall hits. ESPN's not working with the sorting, but I'm relatively confident he's the worst in baseball in IsoP, at least bottom 5.
  4. sarcasm? if not, your evaluation of "total garbage" is quite interesting. Considering abuck's history of trashing Hill at every corner, I wouldn't be surprised.

  6. Kendall's IsoP hasn't been higher than .071 in 5 years. It's just unacceptable, Jose Macias hit for more extra bases.
  7. I traded for Correia in Baseball Mogul and he lost Game 7 of the World Series. You owe me one Kevin.
  8. Soto isn't a real prospect. He's had a hot hand, but it's not like he's been penciled in at C for the big league ever. Needless venom here. No. Soto was always a guy who was slated to be a MLB catcher in some capacity because of his defense and ability to take a walk. Now that he's repeating a level he's more age appropriate and he's raking the ball, meaning he's a possibility to be a future starter.
  9. Hill's gonna get pinch hit for when he potentially could throw a complete game. Nevermind, thanks Koyie, I guess.
  10. I don't think you get much scrappier than two time world series champion Craig Counsell. You can't spell Gruff without Graffanino and a U.
  11. In all seriousness, he TRIES to just hit singles. He's talked about it to the media. The bright spot would be that he's been ridiculously unlucky BABIP-wise, so maybe he can bring that up to the baseline of what Soto would've given us.
  12. He's had a decent to great OBP every year since 2001. He's been horrible this year which worries me, but otherwise what's to hate about him. Because his OPS is lower than ARam's SLG this year. He's publicly said he doesn't try to hit for power, so for several years he's been pretty much a guarantee of a sub .700 OPS. His body is broken down from catching all these years and previous injuries, and there's nothing to get excited about defensively. This is exactly like the Cesar Izturis trade, exactly. Except we're not giving up anything particularally significant. Not saying Kendall is good or anything, but we're not giving up Maddux. Okay, aside from the fact that Bowen/Blevins wouldn't have netted us soemthing better, it's exactly the same. I was talking about the mindset that led Hendry to go after these garbage players.

  14. Very good relief numbers in AA this year. Probably will be a serviceable MLB reliever, not really worth getting irate over unless your team is getting Jason Kendall.
  15. That was Theriot. I think we get the lead runner at 2nd on sacrifice attempts more than anyone in the league.
  16. That's certainly understandable. What do you know of Paulino and Doumit defensively behind the plate?
  17. He should win it this year. I can't imagine anyone's been better. It'll go to Wright.
  18. Doumit would be very nice, but we're talking about Cesar Izturis here. Paulino is a possibility with the emergence of Doumit. I'd like that very much. Why such a big fan of Paulino?
  19. It's pretty inconsequential, but they picked the wrong guy to DFA.
