  1. Where is Bonds 31-36?
  2. This must be what the Giants felt like yesterday, with Winn and Bonds replaced with Fontenot and Ramirez.
  3. Marquis is still having a good outing. He should easily get through 7, and maybe the 8th if he's effective/efficient. That would be a huge lift.
  4. Ramirez is going to need to hit a HR after someone commits an error, and Marquis is going to need about 8 web gems from the defense for us to win.
  5. So can guys currently on the DL be used as PTBNLs? I actually suggested Duke a while back in one of the threads covering this, he may/probably need(s) surgery, but considering his ability and age it's worth it to pay him to rehab.
  6. So Dempster, Lee, and Floyd make it essentially a 22 man roster today, yikes.
  7. Wow, is that Bob Howry with a Kerry Wood mask on?
  8. So you essentially care only because Bonds is really good before/without steroids?
  9. longer than he hit .210 in Chicago Random sample fluctations don't alone explain this difference. Obviously, they have something to do with it. But Pie now has a demonstrated trend of struggling at new level before mastering it. and i'd have more patience for letting him struggle through his major league at-bats if we weren't in a division race with an automatic out at catcher and pitcher already Felix isn't an auto-out, especially if he gets platooned with Pagan. Use Jones' hot streak to ship him out(every little bit counts next year when we're signing A-Rod and Z) and let Pie claim what's his.
  10. Well, that makes a little bit of sense. Moore's the primary backup at 3B with Theriot, Fontenot, and DeRosa all starting in the infield, and he replaces Ward's LH bat and 1B capability, plus he's absolutely torching the ball right now(6 HR in his last 6 games).
  11. I wish that was the case, but if Pie was called up, what % of ABs do you think he would get between him, Jones, and Pagan in CF? I know, it's sad that we can't feel comfortable with him getting time even with crappy alternatives.
  12. Holy crap, check out these splits on Braun. v. RHP: 153 PA's, .268/.307/.465/.772, 6 HR v. LHP: 56 PA's, .543/.607/1.261/1.868, 8 HR That's mind bending. 1.868!
  13. Free Felix plz, how long does he need to hit .400 at Iowa?
  14. How about Hoffpaiur? He's hurt, and I don't think he's on the 40 man either.
  15. Considering the promotions this year, I'm putting my money on a Russ Canzler call-up.
  16. Actually, the Cards have screwed this one up quite a bit. From not getting an MRI when he got his extension, to not having surgery when he first got the bone chips in his elbow, there are a lot of Cards fans not too happy with Dr. Paletta.
  17. Consider me a fan of earth2sean's starter posts. More people should attempt originality like that.
  18. Moore's got some questionable peripherals this year. He's raised his walk rate which is a good thing, but his K Rate has also gone up to 25%, and he's hitting fewer line drives(15%) with the same high BABIP(.331) that makes me think he'd be exposed Jason Dubois style at the big league level. However, he's 23 all this season, so letting him repeat Iowa(especially since there's no shortage of 3B capable players with Ramirez, DeRosa, Theriot, and Fontenot) would probably be good for him.
  19. I don't think they have. In that event, I think I'd prefer Mateo right now for a spot start.
