  1. There's hope.
  2. Welcome! Like your avatar, eb14play2.
  3. I don't think my team as a whole is going to beat Barber + Turner.
  4. Jim Edmonds Last 7 days: .333/.455/.667/1.121 Last 14 days: .280/.400/.560/.960 In August: .200/.371/.509/.881
  5. It's normal for fans to want to vent after a loss....and after the last couple of weeks it's certainly understandable that Cub fans might be getting a little nervous as to what the future holds. The condenscending "you dont know what you are talking about" stuff is far worse than a casual fan worrying about his team. Then these posts belong in rants or in the game thread. "We just lost" is not an excuse for emphatic irrationality.
  6. The Brewers just got outscored 17-8 in a 4 game series against the Padres. They split it at home and had both Sabathia and Sheets pitch. Now they go face the Reds 3 best starters right now, then go on the road for 10 straight against the Phillies, us, and the Reds three best starters again. This thread is embarrassing.
  7. Nevada gave Texas Tech some trouble for a while, so I'm hoping that's a good enough reminder to keep the team from coming out flat. Fortunately, with the game being at home, and the state of the Mizzou offense with Daniel as the trigger man, Mizzou is relatively upset proof, because they're going to score too many points to allow the opponent any margin for error.
  8. Mostly Big 10 games right now, but no one really running away. Marshall is up 14-0 in Wisconsin early in the second quarter is the big surprise, with Illinois only up 10-7 on Eastern Illinois as well.
  9. This is not a very good contribution to the Reassurance thread.
  10. Huh. Is it just one year? Any idea if it's neutral or at either Mizzou/SIU? It's a 1-AA opponent, it's going to be in Columbia.
  11. The V-Tech game was at the Panthers stadium, a neutral site. They still have to play NC State and I believe Virginia after this too, really impressive non-con.
  12. The Cubs have the best offense in the NL, and it's not particularly close. The Cubs have probably the best bullpen in the NL. The Cubs have 2 of the top 5-10 starters in the NL, and another who's in the 20 to 30 range. Yes, the Cubs are the best team in the NL even without Z.
  13. You know who the best team in the NL is if we lose Zambrano for the remainder? The Cubs.
  14. 31st in MLB in Runs Created, 34th in VORP
  15. May the battle for in-state supremacy begin. Considering SEMO gave up 500+ yards to Southwest Baptist last week, Mizzou may hang a hundred on them. I just hope they let Maclin and Moore rest to make sure they don't reaggravate their injuries.
  16. For the more statistically inclined, here's the Mizzou-Illinois Beyond the Box Score More on Beyond the Box Score(scroll to some older posts for more background/theoretical explanations): Link
  17. I don't remember how MLB does home-road for 7 game series, is it 2-3-2 or 2-2-1-1-1?
  18. Because he threw 50 more innings than he had in the last several years. At this rate he's going to throw 15 more than last year. He's much higher on the PAP list this year.
  19. That's what Cedeno becomes with McGehee(RH PH) and Hill(Blanco becomes a RH PH) getting called up. You think today was a sign that Lou's comfortable with DeRosa as the backup SS? No different than the dozens of times that Cedeno has pinch hit before the 9th inning and not remained in the game.
  20. Warning: If you're sick of or hate LOLCat stuff, you'll hate this post. That said, I found these amusing.
  21. That's what Cedeno becomes with McGehee(RH PH) and Hill(Blanco becomes a RH PH) getting called up.
  22. I went with Westbrook when I drafted 3rd in a draft last week. LT and Peterson were the first two picks.
  23. The only way the Cubs don't win the division is if they can't beat the Brewers in those 2 series. If they were to split those 6 games and play only .500 ball in the rest of their games, the Brewers need a 15-5 finish aside from those series to beat them. If they win 4 of 6, then the Brewers need a 16-4 finish, assuming the Cubs only play at a .500 level.
  24. With an injury? I must've missed that.
