Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-11-16
Transmogrified Tiger replied to CaliforniaRaisin's topic in Cubs Minor League Talk
Contreras now 4 for 5 with a double Vogelbach 3 for 4 with a 2B, BB, and K -
Warren is a shrewd pick for this inning. He's unlikely to come up in the bottom half unless the Cubs score(in which case he's coming out for Rondon), but if not he's able to get a 2nd inning and buy time in a likely extra innings game.

I thought Bryant was going to make that closer than it was
-
Bryan Price is not a good manager

Contreras goes 3 for 4 Almora with 2 walks and 2 Ks -
a combination of bad luck and Finnegan walking everyone else
-
Bryant wants to double clutch so bad, I know those feels
-
next time they'll take more pitches and hopefully hit some line drives, amirite
-
gonna try real hard to pretend that wasn't an inning ending double play ball with Votto on first
-
Soler made like 4 consecutive dumb decisions to let Votto get 2nd.

Wrigley Renovations and Related Wrigleyville Stuff
Transmogrified Tiger replied to David's topic in Chicago Cubs Talk
I might be in the minority, but I wish they wouldn't have done this. That home run was amazing, but it was also one of 6 that day in a non-clinching NLDS win in a season that ended in the NLCS. No need for it to be there permanently. The scoreboard Schwarbomb was in the clinching NLDS win and one of "only" 3 that day, IIRC. (Also, the first ever playoff series won at Wrigley, not that that means a whole lot). Not that I think it should be up there. I don't really care either way, TBH. Oh that's right, he had the oppo HR in the 6 HR day. Either way, the point remains. Awesome moment, not worthy of permanent memoriam given the circumstances. -

more like Tommy La Stealsa hit away

I think you're confused, I love La Stella, any sarcasm is poking the weird contingent of people who hate him irrationally Am I allowed to think he's a boring, replacement-ish sixth or seventh infielder, or do I have to pick a side? Let's just say you feel way different than everyone without going into detail, then we both are happy

hey look, another hit for La Stella
-
He is almost the best hitter in the national league at his position almost
-
Montero has hit two balls about a combined 850 feet and has 2 doubles that's borderline blurnsball, hopefully this place gets razed
-
ho hum, another hit from La Stella
-
Just get Quentin Berry again if you want that skillset. At least with Berry no one pretends that he might not be a complete negative in the batter's box.

Week of 4/4 - Other Games

Reds take 2 of 3 from Pittsburgh, and the Phillies take a series in New York. Nice to see the latter especially since the Mets made a living sweeping those last year. -
oh my goodness what a soul crusher
-
what an impossibly dumb ballpark
