  1. That's a daunting first AAA lineup to face, but yeah, not great. On the upside, Vogelbach is 2 for 2 with a BB, and Contreras is 2 for 3 and has caught 2 of 4 basestealers
  2. There is no one in the current bullpen who can be optioned without the player having the right to refuse it, being exposed to revocable waivers, or both.
  3. I imagine they might string it out a few extra days in case someone else gets a knock, but my guess is they DFA Szczur. Even with his hot start he's not going to take away playing time from Soler, so without the DH or another injury there's no path to him doing anything but pinch hitting. Baez can play his positions, and later term Almora can figure into his role if they believe in him. Lowest ceiling, most replaceable, doesn't have a super high floor.
  4. He looks like Vincent D'Onofrio wearing a farmer skin-suit. Listen, you can't just go around saying stuff and putting images in people's heads that they can't unsee
  5. I'm a bit skeptical even of the improvement, since it was only in 60 AA innings and his control regressed again in AAA(12.6% BB%, his worst since rookie ball). He's still very talented and could definitely put things together, but in terms of things that are existential threats to the Cubs, a poor man's Aaron Sanchez waiting in AAA doesn't worry me a ton.
  6. Glasnow can't throw strikes and Taillon hasn't pitched in over 30 months. I'm more worried about Searage making Nicasio and Niese into 3 win starters. One of the youngsters will probably be better than Locke though, it's amazing he's held a rotation spot so long on a playoff team despite being a homeless man's Travis Wood.
  7. I absolutely saw helmet rubs opening night, Fowler's double was one if memory serves. The base pointing is kinda great though, perfectly fine with that being a helmet rub for a new group.
  8. Lackey/RDLR Hammel/Ray Hendricks/Greinke Arrieta/Miller Is that right? Or does Hendricks go Friday?
  9. The Cubs are now 65-38 (102 win pace) in regular season games since Schwarber joined the team.
  10. Trout goes 0 for 8 with 3 K's in the series, just wanted to see that written out again
  11. small thing, but love seeing Bryant not double clutch even though he had the time to
  12. I've found it depends on how you're viewing it. 3rd party apps(Android, Roku, etc) typically have a delay of up to a full batter, while watching in a browser is pretty much real time.
  13. Ross gonna go out in a blaze of 1.000 OPS glory
  14. That was a good example of how good MLB shortstops are. In real time it looked like there was no chance that Russell caught that on the base, but on replay if he was off it was by a fraction of a second.
  15. unblock-us.com free trial I'm in Washington so it wasn't a legit blackout. Turns out my work VPN was the culprit even though that traffic shouldn't be routed through the VPN. Weird.
  16. i'm not sure if that's a thing in domes/warm weather cities IIRC, our series was originally supposed to be Sunday and Tuesday, I forget why they moved Opening Day to Monday, but the change is why there was the weird Angels Stadium exhibition on Sunday.
  17. that is a good way of putting it [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
