  1. Eddie Vedder furiously breaking everything in his field of vision right now
  2. What did Miggy say? I missed it. Hughes: He hit the most famous grand slam in Cubs history and he's going to say a few words, Miguel Montero! *Montero dances to the stage* Montero: WE ARE GOOD BOYS! *Montero hops away, arms to the sky*
  3. I'm amazed they remembered to invite Joe Smith to the parade
  4. McLeod is wearing a navy or gray pullover every minute of every day, I'm sure of it also, Hoyer's UnderArmour track jacket with the W flag is pretty sharp
  5. JD doing the fake high five line as he gets introduced, he is just the best
  6. Rizzo and Wood are the only holdovers from 2012 after Castro and Valbuena were traded away. 2013 was Rondon's Rule 5 year, along with Arrieta, Strop, and Grimm mid-season.

  8. He could do it at the parade for all I care. Just step up to the Grant Park podium and say "I'm outta here Chicago. PS that bomb off Kluber though, right?"
  9. Well, Wrigley Field is where all the scary mean lightning is, so I can understand his perspective.
  10. I don't think Cameron was really wrong with that one(unlike several of his other pieces this postseason), but I did feel like it maybe missed the alternate explanation, that even a tired Chapman was hitting 98-99 with every fastball and hitters have to respect it. That's still velocity that nearly no one else gets to with regularity, and a 10+ mph gap from his slider. Even though he threw slider after slider in that inning, he had thrown 90% fastballs as a Cub. Hitters have to gear up to catch up to 98-99, making it all the harder to square up a breaking pitch, even if they caught more of the plate than Chapman wanted.
  11. Once he fields it cleanly he looks just like giggling Ron Swanson http://66.media.tumblr.com/aabb69bc88c19c551c4fe0d4ce32f72b/tumblr_mkl5s9o3af1rssclxo1_250.gif
  12. Something tells me it's not the leg that's gonna keep you from wanting to leave the house tomorrow.

  14. oh hey here's Frank Thomas ethering Pete Rose out of nowhere [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. this is when we get to cash in our bonus outs right we were better than the Indians by 9 games so it's the 7th for them
  16. okay Kyle you get the bottom of the order in the 4th then Lester for 2.
  17. The dichotomy between the unshakeable perception that Hendricks is on the verge of complete failure and also that he's a Greg Maddux clone every time he does well is hilarious.
  18. He'll be on RF duty, not much to screw up there. Tonight's home plate ump, Sam Holbrook, appears to be the best in this crew: http://www.hardballtimes.com/mlb-umpires-2016-review-world-series-preview/
  19. The Argument for Starting David Ross in Game 7 Considering this is an AL game I'd probably play it like this: - Start Montero, he has a better shot of hitting Kluber and you don't lose much defensively compared to Contreras(less arm, more framing) - When the catcher's spot comes up against Miller or whenever Lester comes into the game(whichever comes first), insert Ross. He's already seen Miller once and gave him a good at bat, and naturally he's well equipped to catch Lester - If needed, pinch hit Contreras for Ross against Allen. By that time we should be to Chapman's portion of the game so the consideration is getting runs if you need them. That said, using 3 catchers for 9 innings is pretty unorthodox. Considering that Baez and Heyward are likely starting for mostly defensive purposes though, I don't know if you want to forfeit another lineup spot against Kluber by starting Ross.
  20. Kluber had 9 starts of 32 this season where he gave up 4 ER or more, 2 of them in September. For reference, Arrieta had 8 such starts. Hendricks had 3.
