  1. new york's hottest new club is yankee stadium it's got everything: dozier dongs, starters with only one out, buxton robbing extra base hits, even brett gardner home runs
  2. Horrible Nobody will give a horsefeathers about your NIT People don't care about the NIT because there are dozens and dozens of teams playing in the more prestigious event. If the more prestigious event has literally 2, it's exclusive enough that people have interest in a tournament without the big title. Fans of non-tournament teams still watch conference tournaments.
  3. I'll again suggest having the best record in each league play a world series and have an expanded playoffs of 1-3 game series separate from that. Get your elimination game excitement expanded while still having an outlet of prestige for the 162 game grind.
  4. I saw a tweet that implied the reason was weather-related.
  5. It's just a baseball twitter person, and it's a reference to The Office. The takeaway is that we might not want to rush to assume that Coppolella did something completely beyond the pale, he just might have been less careful and/or made more enemies in and out of his front office.

  7. The quote is real, but it was from Wacha: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/ben-frederickson/benfred-cards-must-recognize-an-uncomfortable-truth-before-threatening-cubs/article_94f84542-ea0a-580e-b9dc-4f1cbc40532c.html
  8. Possibly, but Q throwing a few innings of a sim game on Wednesday after 80 pitches on Friday doesn't really preclude him from starting Game 2 the next Saturday. With Lester looking mostly back to normal the past 2 starts, I would probably bet on him in Game 2 though.
  9. 2nd best in second half. Right? What were the Indians in the second half? http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2017&month=31&season1=2017&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=2,d Indians are 4.5 games better in the 2nd half, Cubs are 3.5 games better than the 3rd place Yankees.
  10. With the right results today(Cubs W, Red Sox L) the Cubs will finished tied for the 5th best record in baseball. If the D-Backs lose too they'd only be tied with Boston.
  11. By my count, this will be the first season since 1997 where the last day of the season had zero implications on playoff teams or seeding/home-field
  12. With the Red Sox winning today, the only playoff position or seeding left in doubt is the NL WC2. Any Brewer loss or Rockie win seals it for Colorado.
  13. Kyle Hendricks http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/files/2016/05/hendricks.jpg
  14. https://pro.teechip.com/javy-air-shirt
  15. You absolutely sit Javy against Scherzer. I get the argument for La Stella but it'll probably be two of Zobrist/Happ/Schwarber in 2B/LF. Contreras is harder to pin down. If I had to guess, I'd say they play him.
  16. and thinks smart tvs and laptops are watching him getting the good tin foil ain't cheap
  17. He left Hammel off the NLDS roster last year.
