  1. I will never ever claim Pujols should sniff a gold glove this year. Worst error I've seen him make. He has made a couple nice picks today, on throws from Eckstein and Nunez. I've always said that Pujols wasn't gold glove caliber, but everyone has a bad error now and again.
  2. To answer my own question, prior to today's game, Mulder has a 6.93 ERA in Day games, 2.14 in Night games. But, for his career it is around 4.15 in the day and 3.75 at night. Obviously, before this year it was closer than that. I'm not trying to draw any conclusions from it, I was just wondering if today was in line with his extreme split so far this year, which it is.

  4. Someone help me out here, Mulder's got really bad Day/Night splits this year. Is he normally awful in the day, or is this out of the ordinary?
  5. Why? It's not like he's some bubble player who may or may not be able to make it as a starter. We know what Wood can do as a starter when healthy, let him have the surgery and start rehabbing as a starter so he can get back in the rotation ASAP next year. To showcase him for a trade. I don't want to allocate $12 million to a guy who's most likely on the DL by May of next year. I think you're more likely to hurt him further than improve another team's view on him by stretching him out for 2-3 starts.

  7. I hate when umpires call people out who were never tagged because the throw beat them. It's like the phantom foot on a double play. Pay attention and make a call based on what actually happens, not what's likely to happen.
  8. Mulder, you have one of the worst players in the league at the plate, and he's already gotten lucky off of you. No need to delay by trying to pick off the gremlin.
  9. I doubt the Yankees are huge players, they don't have any money coming off the books do they? They have Brown, Bernie, Gordon, Felix Rodriguez, and a couple others that make less. Between those 4, they free up over 35 million.
  10. Welcome! I'm an incoming freshman at Mizzou, what's your major? business management what about you. what dorm you living in? Computer science, although I may go for a minor in business. Wolpers for me, how about you? Are you a freshman too? Your post makes it sounds like you aren't. no ill be a sophomore and i will be living in cramer this year, just easier for me this year to live in a dorm. perhaps this embarrassing season by the cubs could be replaced by a good season by the tigers in football? I'm hoping, can't wait to get my season tickets next month. EDIT: BTW, there's several other students around here. Cubbies75, Strife(although he is a Cards fan ), and Mizzou(surprising I know).

  12. Actually, that's pretty funny. You know we'd be laughing at the Cards if they were in the same position. Yeah, except for the fact that you'd never see the Cubs do a Cards lowlight reel.
  13. This is real class. The CARDINALS FSN broadcast starts their telecast with a highlight reel of all the Cubs screwups from the last few weeks, with "Free Falling" playing in the background.
  14. That looks like Macias is at 2B. Good thinking Dusty, Walker's only 5 for his last 13, and 5 for his last 15 against LHP. Oh, and Walker had a day off 3 games ago.
  15. Going by Runs Created: Kent Utley Giles Freel Castillo Loretta Walker Durham Weeks Counsell Biggio Aurilia Have all been better than Grudzielanek.
  16. Nomar wouldn't be a very good option in the OF, his offense would be diluted there. I also don't know about moving him to 2B, since there's no guarantee he'll be better than Walker, who we have on the cheap next season.

  18. Because they are the Yankees, Steinbrenner gets impatient.
  19. What do you think should happen to Felipe for his comments?
  20. That's the kicker. If Hill and Williams were performing better, a move like this might be better received if accompanied with another "throw in the towel" move like trading Burnitz.
  21. Ronny and Lee for ARod+cash. Sign Konerko. The Yankees are only paying 16 mil a year to ARod, right? If we could get the to eat 3 mil a year of that, his contract would be awesome, instead of a millstone. Hmmm, I have dated information on how much Texas is paying. Cot's contracts says they pay an average of 16 million for A-Rod, 112 mil over 7 years.
