I'll say it again. Especially with starting pitchers, there's a difference between poor performance and inconsistent performance. Anyone who had a problem with half of Z's outings this year is being irrational at best. -

There's about 30 picks left, they're in the 7th round. Smith was taken by the Jets in the 4th round, he's the only Mizzou player drafted thus far. -
When you say "Zamnbrano(sic) has been crap all year" and "Being the ace also means you don't melt down just about every game", you're going to get called out on it, because Z hasn't been crap all year nor has he melted down just about every game. There's a very real difference between poor performance and inconsistent performance. Say Z hasn't pitched like an "ace"(which is unnecessarily arbitrary anyway, but I digress), fine, but when you exaggerate further upon that to paint him as someone who hasn't done a positive thing all year when he clearly has people are going to catch you. What exactly has Z done that's been positive this year? He's O for the season with a ballooning ERA and WHIP. See my previous post. 3 outings combined for fantastic numbers, 3 disaster outings. This is ridiculous. You're going to harp on him for "losing control" in every outing, even though in two of them he didn't even give up any ER? This is why this got started, because of hyperbole like this.

It's not the Brewers it's the pitching. We get it. You're anti-Z this year. I'm pro good pitcher. I'm not going to stand up for the guy blindly. What has he done to earn praise? Look at his numbers (not just this game but before hand). His ERA, WHIP, etc. He still has time to make adjustments but there's been little to get excited about. Haha, you can't be serious. Haha What has he done this year? This, this, and to a lesser extent, this. AKA, half of his outings this season.

I don't think this is unexpected. Many people thought he wouldn't see Peoria this year, or at least until late in the season. Why is that? I cant see how not pitching against meaningful competition can help him in any way. I thought high drafted highschool picks always pretty much went straight to Boise or Peoria. What types of things is he doing in Arizona? When does Boise's season start? Thats the short season rookie ball team correct? Boise doesn't start til later in the year. The thinking was with Pawelek's age it's best to bring him along slowly. Even more so if they are going to be modifying his mechanics, which they may be wanting to do IIRC(Someone else feel free to correct me).

That means nothing if Sheets can't stay healthy. Capuano carried them last season. I wouldn't say that Zambrano is as dominant a pitcher as Wood or Prior when all are healthy and at the top of their game. Heck, Doug Melvin even described Capuano as the ace when he was interviewed on The Score Friday. When Dan Bernstein talked to him about Sheets injuries Melvin was quick to say that Capuano has emerged has the leader of the staff. Sheets threw over 150 innings last year, it's not like he spent the year on the DL. Capuano was barely above league average last year. Regardless of what cliched speak their management proclaims, Capuano isn't the ace. Heck, Davis was better than Capuano last year.

You think Burrell would accept moving to RF??? Isn't RF considered more prestigious or difficult than LF? I would think that would be like a promotion. -

It's bittersweet at this end as well. :P Pretty solid pick for the 3rd round. One of these years Tampa is going to be able to draft a deep threat(thanks for rising from the dead last year Joey Galloway), Stovall seems monotonous with Clayton, but he's a good value nonetheless. -
