  1. Wow, I honestly was going to predict a Mabry DP before Marshall hits one in the gap, shoulda gone through with it.
  2. Agreed. It always amazed me how the Braves managed to fit so many monotones in one booth.
  3. Observation: How many hits has Pierre had through the infield this year? It seems to me when he's getting on base he's stroking line drives rather than beating the ball into the ground.
  4. The best is the reaction when they take Brady over Sapp. Whoops.
  5. He would have trotted out to left and ripped his heart out of his chest with his bare hand. FATALITY! CARLOS WINS!
  6. Welcome! You might want to edit out your email and have interested parties PM you(is there still a minimum post count to activate PM's?) or IM you instead.
  7. Williams is probably our 3rd best starter right now. Sending him down to AAA was shortsighted.
  8. He's only gonna pitch 4 or 5 innings can't you go and then study after? Well, it's also a 3 hour roundtrip(according to mapquest) from U of I to Peoria.
  9. He gave them a B. He reacted positively to just about every move they made. He talked at length about Dusty, and seemed to like both DBs a lot. He really likes Angelo, it seems. Last year he gushed about the Bradley pick and gave us an A for the draft, as I recall.
  10. tampa bay? Is good. Not as good as Carolina. The AFC South is pretty competitive. I wouldn't count your chickens before they're hatched. Tampa Bay had the number one D in the NFL last year, Atlanta has a history of success against the Panthers, and the Saints added a TON of talent with Breese and Bush. The Panthers are the best team, but it's going to be a dog fight to come out of that division. Ummm....The defending NFC Champion, NFL MVP and the team that absolutely DOMINATED Carolina in the championship game might have something to say as to why no one mentioned them in this conversation. I mean really, the SAINTS? I can't wait for the Seahawks to go 13-3 again and watch all the critics look at each other and say Who is this team again? Hassellback (Best NFC WB rating last 2 years), Alexander (NFL MVP and TD record holder), Julien Peterson & Lofa Tatapu patroling the middle of the field, Grant Wistrom coming around the end and D Jack and Burleson going deep. BTW, they also drafted the best punter available. He is a guy that kicks 80 yard kickoffs  I think this might be a team to consider. They were talking about the NFC South, and the comment about making the NFC title game(as last year obviously proves) doesn't mean they've already gone through Carolina.
  11. FWIW, when Z came back from the WBC and pitched in ST, he had his best spring ever performance wise.

  13. Yes, I'm sure that's exactly why Wood is rehabbing in Arizona instead of Chicago.
  14. Man, we didn't even charge to get into our games at my high school. Of course, that would've been impossible considering the way it was laid out, but still, I remember going to districts and knowing it was a big deal cause people had to pay to see us. My parents have had the same season tickets since I was in fifth grade. As people next to us have moved or changed seats, my mom and dad have bought up the extras. We now have eight seats on the same row about even with the 40 yard line. These will come in handy in about four years when my nephew starts playing. Oh, high school football. I think there's something like that at our school, but there's not so much demand that it's really necessary.
  15. I would really like the pick if they were creative enough to get him some touches on offense. But I'm not sure how creative the Bears actually are, and if they can find a way to use him appropriately. I still think it was a reach selection, given that he doesn't have a real position. I would have liked one of those slash QBs around the 4th round. Instead of overpaying Randle El in free agency, they could have found a cheap one in the draft. Smith would have been a good pick for this. He's a better running QB than Vick, IMO. He's like the Gale Sayers of running QB's. Coming from someone who watched almost every game he played this year, Smith is not as good a running QB as Vick.
  16. http://www.sportspool.com/football/super_bowl/Superbowl_XXXVII_ring.jpg Fear Chris Simms. Or something.
  17. Apparently the Score is reporting that Hill got the callup. Yepez and Johnson today, hooray.

  19. Especially since that guy went running back to his home state in free agency too. IMO that has a lot more to do with Ned Colletti's love of former Red Sox players (Mueller, Lowe, Nomar, etc) than with Nomar's actual wishes. I was actually thinking of Maddux, but I guess he's not from CA, is he. I need to turn my brain on today.
