  1. Man, the bears could really use a guy like, say.....Matt Slauson.
  2. 5-15 stretch to start those 41. Going for 16-6 since. #maths And also, 42 games. Ha horsefeathers. Didn't say it was good math.
  3. That's actually quite a feat. 5-15 stretch to start those 41. Going for 16-6 since. #maths
  4. The last time the Cubs made the road trip to Oakland, they traded Scott Feldman and Steve Clevenger for Pedro Strop and Jake Arrieta. Arrieta made his organizational debut in Iowa against a AAA team. Fittingly, when the Cubs return to Oakland for the first time since trading for him, Jake will again face an AAA team.
  5. Joe Nathan > Joe Smith Tommy LaStella > Chris Coghlan Justin Grimm > Brian Matusz The Cubs pursuit of a better 25th man on the roster has led to them potentially losing some decent players. And they still have a decision to make for Hammel on Tuesday and Cahill at some point in the near future. Obviously, this is better than the alternative of not having enough good players.
  6. I see what you did there.
  7. Sonofabitch! Inning is over if there was a pitching machine on the mound.
  8. I feel like one of those guys could have caught that ball to 2B......of course, it was about 97 mph for no damn reason.
  9. Their OF is really good and Marlins already said Ichiro will be in the lineup tomorrow.
  10. Everybody hates Cleveland. But if he's comparing it to Milwaukee......
  11. I dont think hes as athletic is he? Yes. 4.35 in the 40 at his pro day. Very athletic.
  12. Be a good day for J-Hey to sit and get Contreras back in there. Szczur in OF if Contreras catches, Contreras in LF if Ross behind the plate (though he'll catch tomorrow w/ Lester going).
  13. I'll watch the rerun when Melania Trump speaks.
  14. That's a lot to give up for a rental of a reliever. But those are probably the most expendable "solid" pieces that the Cubs have. Torres, decent talent, not elite talent, but very good production. May not be able to stay at SS, which is fine considering he'd never play there with the Cubs. McKinney, decent talent, again not elite. Good production, is down this year. Inability to play CF. Heyward and Schwarber on the corners. Warren, decent talent, good production, also down this year. Passed by Matusz as the 6th starter, Cahill also getting stretched out, potential for a trade for a controllable starter with options puts him as possibly the 9th option to start, way down on the RP depth chart. It's too much, but not crippling by any means. What this means for the pursuit of a SP and/or OF scares me though. This may be the team the Cubs go into the postseason with for the most part.
  15. If it had to be Soler, Torres, and Happ for Archer and Colome as principals, I'd be okay with that even if it meant sending some money for Soler. I'd try to swap Almora in for Happ if I could, but I would not consider those 3 to be a prohibitive price when the return is an elite reliever and a likely TOR starter both under control for 3-5 years. I'd try hard to not add Happ . But yeah, that's a very fair price, and honestly an ideal scenario for the Cubs to get a controllable starter and a good reliever without having to give up Schwarber, Contreras or Baez.
  16. Trying to drive Lucroy's trade value up by letting him throw out everyone.
  17. Stop running with Zobrist........even though he was under the tag.
