  1. I was joking. I don't "hate" him. But somebody has to be the Macias, Neifi, Herrera on the team.
  2. Montero has only caught 2 of the previous 12 days and is catching 60% of the time at most right now, so I don't think the wear and tear of a single night/day is as big a concern. I don't care about his wear and tear, I care about his crappy bat in the lineup.
  3. Well hit, but why is Montero playing today after catching a night game last night?
  4. Whaaa? These jerseys are fantastic. they could be worse, but they are bad Thehy're pretty dope. 1984 jerseys.
  5. If the playoffs started next week, Hendricks legit should start Game 1.
  6. I think that's 3 more than he threw last time Only like 6 fewer than Jake threw all night.
  7. Luckily Baez is an awesome bunter and fast down the line.
  8. That's it. I don't think they've even had one where they've taken the lead in the bottom of the 8th, other than the Atlanta game, where they scored 5 to win 6-1. Wasn't Addisons home run in the home opener in the 8th? Yep, edited the original.
  9. That's it. I don't think they've even had one where they've taken the lead in the bottom of the 8th, other than the Atlanta game, where they scored 5 to win 6-1. Edit: wrong. The Cincy game where they got no-hit thru 6+, scored 2 in the 7th and 3 in the 8th is another. But definitely only 1 walk-off.
  10. That work? He wasn't bad last night really either, though.
  11. My guess is a) with Jake on deck they'll just walk him and b) joe doesn't want to use him and lose his potential defense later on A makes sense. B, not an issue. Just move Contreras behind the plate and Zobrist to LF (Javy to 3B, LaStella to 2B also).
  12. No mention of Charles "Peanut" Tillman retiring? Peanut announced via Twitter that he is done. Probably not quite a Hall of Famer, but don't underestimate how good of a player he was for the Bears. All things considered, maybe the best CB the Bears have ever had. 39 INTs, 43 forced fumbles, 9 TDs. 21st in NFL history in non-offensive TDs, and all the non kick returners ahead of him are Hall of Famers (except Darren Rapey Sharper). After a defensive MVP caliber season in 2012, it's unfortunate that Peanut couldn't stay healthy the last 3 years. Getting him to 50/50 and 100 total turnovers would have put him in Canton. Also too bad he couldn't get a ring in Chicago nor last year in Carolina (even though he wasn't able to play in the SB). Screwed over by being only a 2-time probowler and 1 time all pro (2012). But a really great player and an even better person. Hopefully, the Bears can get him back in the organization in some kind of role. Congrats on a great career #33.
  13. FWIW, I'd give up Vogelbach (and probably a little more) for Chapman in a heartbeat.
  14. I think you have to give up a package resembling that of one it takes to get a good starter at the deadline. The fact that Miller isn't as valuable as a SP because he doesn't start is balanced out by him being a truly elite RP with control. I think things get complicated in that this is the Yankees. Not necessarily a need for a prospect-laden package or a salary dump of a good player to save money. They'd probably want ML ready talent or close to it. I feel like Soler, Vogelbach, Underwood and maybe a lottery ticket would get it done if they throw in a pitching prospect. But that's probably too much for the Cubs, unless you consider the fact that those guys are expendable to a team like the Cubs.
  15. [/spoil] So much wrong in 1 comment. I bet if you find his facebook page, it's a bunch of "#bluelivesmatter" stuff.
  16. I didn't realize he was doing as well as he is this year. I know he wasn't very good last year and IDK why I thought he was similar (but a little better) so far this year. Forget what I said.
  17. Is it wrong to be slightly underwhelmed by that comp? Kipnis is a pretty good player, was hoping for a little more upside with the bat from Happ, though that could me having expectations too high.
