  1. I think a lot will depend on the matchups. I think Montero will probably get a spot and catch Arrieta in Game 1 and a potential final game of the series. But I think all bets are off for the NLCS if he doesn't hit or allows the other team to run wild. If the Cubs get the Giants, I think they'll keep 2 LHPs as they have a lineup full of LHHs. Mets, Cardinals, Pirates or Marlins, I'd hope they'd keep Cahill, who's a better pitcher.
  2. Looks like Maddon's plan was to separate the lefties (Heyward/LaStella). With Bryant and Rizzo locked in at 2-3, the only options would be to put Russell or Contreras 4th or LaStella 8th.
  3. Win today, and I'm dead on. 21-7 month so far.
  4. He was probably out. But can't blame the call or lack of change.
  5. MLBTV is going for $9.99 today for the rest of the year.
  6. They'll be more fun to watch than they have been in recent years. They'll be a lot faster with White, Langford, Trevathan, Freeman, Floyd and the rest of the rookies on the field. This team is still 1 draft away, but with a year in the system (I know the OC is different, but system the same) and a pretty substantial increase in talent....if the Bears can win half of the games this year that they lost by less than a TD last year, they're a 9-win team.
  7. Kris Bryant, NL MVP and most versatile fantasy player.
  8. I get your point, but I lol'd because it almost comes off as "I can't believe this team 32 games over .500 lost that 1 game". 34, you weirdo It was just a number I threw out there. I wasn't looking at the standings. And that clearly wasn't the horsefeathering point nor was it remotely weird, guy who has a penis message board moniker.

  10. Before Fowler signed out of nowhere, Schwarber/Heyward/Soler was going to be the OF. So, if Fowler is not back, that could conceivably be the OF again. Of course, before the season it wasn't known that Szczur would be able to hold his own as a very good 4th OF. It wasn't known that Almora could keep up his 2nd half of 2015 hitting. It wasn't known that Baez would be able to hit ML pitching a be an amazing asset to this team. It wasn't known that Contreras would come up and be a big part of the ML team, including in the OF. So basically, I think Soler's fate has nothing to do with Fowler, and more to do with all the guys who stepped up when he was hurt.
  11. Any consideration to giving Hendricks game 2? I think if you are definitely giving Hendricks a chance in the playoff rotation (and he has more than earned it), I think you have to potentially allow him to pitch at home. All the starters have been amazing at home (Lackey the only starter with a Wrigley ERA over 2.01....and it's 2.47), but Hendricks has been really good in Wrigley for the last 2 years. With homefield throughout the NL the most likely scenario......I'd think long and hard about: Arrieta Hendricks Lester Lackey/Hammel Win that series in 3 or 4, it sets up Hendricks again to start Game 2 of the NLCS at home. And then again, in Wrigley in Game 6. I also like Lester in Game 3 (and potentially game 7 NLCS) because I think Game 3 is typically a very important game, and he's been there before...blah blah blah.
  12. Which all should have happened last inning with 2 outs. It'd be 7-0 now.
  13. Definitely safe, but it's his own fault this is even a debate. Slide normal.
  14. Regular ass pop-up slide and he's up before the tag.
  15. Hendricks doesn't throw hard enough to get strikeouts guys.
  16. Yeah, the Broncos were running exotic blitzes. Overloads to one side, delayed blitzes, sending safeties, sending 7 vs. 6 blockers. Not typically things teams do in the first preseason game. Of course, the Broncos are a team that has a lot of continuity. They have guys that have been running the same system for a few years now. It makes sense that they would see how (especially the new guys) play in a system they will actually run. The Bears clearly weren't prepared to play a team with an actual gameplan. But that's their own fault. And even if they were, they still were atrocious blocking anyone which is not acceptable.
  17. I thought that last year. Look the same as then to me.
  18. Still ahead of MadBum.....who passed him earlier today.
  19. Well, the good news is that interior OL is one of the few positions where there are some capable options still out there in free agency. Louis Vasquez is somehow still unsigned. He's 29 with 100+ starts under his belt, including starting and winning the Superbowl last year. He's a big boy who isn't super mobile, so he may not be considered a great fit for the Bears offense. He's similar in size to Slauson who was considered not a fit, but like Slauson, Vasquez has experience in this offense as he played under Gase in Denver for a couple years.
