  1. Raw you are the first internet person I Remember from Cubs taking and I really want to say congrats Congrats man. We deserve this horsefeathers. I know I'm not part of the team, but so many hours we have dedicated to talking about this team. I'm a football fan first, but I live and die for the Cubs. We deserve this feeling. :flythew:
  2. All year man. It's great that it's hard to even pick an MVP of this team. Bryant and Rizzo will be top 3-5 for NL MVP. Had co-NLCS MVPs, which could have easily also gone to Hendricks, Rizzo, Fowler or Russell. Zobrist gets WS MVP, which could have also gone to Rizzo, Bryant (2 big HRs), Arrieta or Lester (2 W each), and then you have Russell with a team-leading 8 RBIs in this series, and the inspirational story of Kyle Schwarber who somehow "quietly" went 7-17 after nearly 7 months off.
  3. Monday, I took my son trick-or-treating (with a group of neighbors) wearing my Cubs hat. We went by a funeral home that was giving out candy. He goes to me...."which kid is yours?". I point him out. He then says, "I should give him more candy since your boys won't be getting a ring". After we talked and I told him we'd get it done, he said if the Cubs came back to win the series, there would be a championship hat for me, on him. You'd think a mortician would recognize the dead better. WE AIN'T DEAD BABY! ALIVE AND VERY horsefeathering WELL
  4. Feels good to say that. Honestly never thought I'd see this day.
  5. Gonna be a great bit of irony when Cleveland gets Cleveland'ed. The World Series is scheduled during the start of the NBA season to try to hide you from the fact that the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead.
  6. Everything they are doing is just a little off.
  7. Would be interesting if Bryant didn't throw the ball into RF all 2nd inning. Lackey actually pitching very well.
  8. So cruel that the only person that can hit now is Heyward
  9. This zone though. I'm really sick of talking about it honestly. Hope the Cubs can take advantage.
  10. They get HRs, they get dribblers. They get blown non K calls to keep ABs alive for hits/walks. Lackey can't go to 3 balls on the MF pitcher and take off from his fastball just to get the horsefeathers over. horsefeathers.

  12. I think I was pretty "happy to be here" about the World Series. Mid NLCS, I thought the Indians looked pretty tough and I declared to myself that just ending the 71 year drought was enough. At some point, I looked at the fact that the Cubs were so far better than everyone else, and I did a 180 and thought "the Cubs got this in 5". I wasn't nervous for any of the first 3 games. I wasn't upset after the game 1 loss. But last night really pissed me off. I don't want to deal with a future of this team losing this series. I know this team is young and very very good, but I think I was taking for granted that they'll get another chance. But that's not nearly a given. I want this NOW. No longer happy to be here.
  13. I'm getting pissed off. Gonna have their closer for 2.
  14. Yep. I said in Transactions that I would give up basically what it would take to get a starter at the deadline to get him because of his age, years of control, salary, no sign of ever faltering. And obviously, they wanted Schwarber which I wasn't willing to do. But I would have definitely thrown in more to get him over Chapman.
  15. I think he was making a Dave Roberts joke? Well that went right over my head. I wasn't. I forgot about the double switch. Clearly, I was joking about walking them loaded though.
  16. He was [expletive] fabulous in Game 1. Four baserunners in 2ip isn't my definition of fabulous. 0-4 with the only ball put in play about 35 feet behind 2nd base, with RISP shows he wasn't very close to giving up anything of any substance.
