  1. I actually am looking forward to the touch of gray/salt and pepper look in my hair/beard. poor man's george clooney comp likely I have a little, mostly higher up (in line with my ears). My gray hairs are limited to the sides of my head. I've just been very lucky to reach 41 with zero signs of balding. I'm 40, been balding for a good 12 years. Been shaving my head for at least the last 10. Of course, I look like I'm in my early 30s because..........black don't crack. Very little gray in my beard to the point I can pluck out the few. Actually, I've shown signs of balding since I was like 17. I didn't even horsefeathering grow hair at all until I was almost 3. So, I literally had like 12 years of having a full head of hair. Never able to grow an afro, cornrows, or dreads, or a high top fade in the 80s. So, horsefeathers you guys and your damn hair.
  2. I am 1 year, 1 day older than Kerry Wood.
  3. I liked Smoltz a lot as a pitcher. I hate that it has come to this.
  4. Probably shouldn't have faced Napoli, but it's fine.
  5. I don't know if I want Montgomery to start next year. He's really good at this role.
  6. Yes, I was going to mention this early. Very good framing. I think he stole Arrieta at least 2 strikes today.
  7. Would have been a tough decision in about an inning had the no-hitter continued.
  8. Dave Cameron. And I quote: If Kyle could somehow manage to get World Series MVP, that would be something for Cameron to stuff and smoke. Been so long w/o Schwarber I read "Kyle" as Hendricks. Cubs' Kyles are so good. Message board Kyle.....not so much.
  9. Kershaw never pitched on short rest. Game 2 was short rest, 6 was an extra day of rest. Game 2 was on 4 days rest from his previous start. It was 2 days rest from his relief appearance.
  10. Cubs might have gone 161-0 if Schwarber played all year.
  11. Won't be a game 7 so only see him once more. which I also believe, but I don't understand why people think it's such a good thing that Francona would ride him like that if it does happen to go 7. he doesn't have to be as dominating as he was last night to still be really [expletive] good Yeah, I don't expect short rest Kluber to even be as bad as Kershaw was the 2nd time around. I think he could still put up a quality start or at worst a 5 IP, 2 -3 ER type of game. And with the potential of Miller and Allen the last 4, the Cubs still need a strong pitching performance to beat him.
  12. Schwarber just missed that. That was a hittable slider for strike 3.
  13. That's how it works when you're on a board full of people that want the Cubs to win. I just hate the super overreactionary stuff. It's terrible and annoying when Ski and Rondon Fan do it in the regular season and it's annoying now. I get people are frustrated. I'm frustrated also. But the posts that are suggesting the ump is singlehandedly costing the Cubs the game are ridiculous and wrong. Just because the ump blows a call or two doesn't mean that he's the worst ump ever. And just because he blows one call doesn't mean he's blowing every close pitch. You can't tell what's a strike on the screen because of the angle. People have pointed out in previous games and in this one that FOX's zone on the screen sometimes sucks (like the one where the top of the zone was clearly below the batter's belt). Barely anyone has given Kluber any sort of credit for pitching a great game, which is what he's done. And barely anyone has acknowledged that Lester is a bit off tonight. The problem isn't balls being called strikes for Kluber. It's balls being called strikes for Kluber, and balls in the same spot not being called strikes for Lester. Which is something you can see on the screen. And a ton of people have given Kluber credit. And literally nobody has implied that the ump is singlehandedly costing the Cubs the game.
  14. There's your bad call to help the Cubs if there ever was one.
