  1. Javy is like, "damn dude you don't have to swing at the neck-high pitch"
  2. That actually changes a lot for me.
  3. Off-field troubles. Free agent after the year, never going to happen. Crap, didn't realize he's a FA. The off-field stuff was just weed, right? If its not just that, my opinion would have changed on that end too. Yeah, but 1 more failed drug test away from a year suspension. My biggest issue is trading a pick (likely a 4th, i'd guess) for him and he could walk after the season, one which the Bears aren't going anywhere, despite Rodgers being out. And if he's OK and not great (like he's been this year and his whole career), then what do you pay him? He's probably a 1-year "prove it" deal type of guy but would he take that from a rebuilding team w/ a developing QB vs. a team w/ a more proven QB situation and better chance to win? Of course, if he wants a chance to win.....why does he want out of Pittsburgh?
  4. Well that was huge. BTW, I really hate the non-pitch IBB. I had no idea why there were runners on 1st and 2nd.
  5. No. Uncharted territory for a guy that hasn't been very good recently.

  7. Lol, get horsefeathers, horsefeathers I see the man inspired loyalty. That's a plus! I'm not [expletive] on Trubisky btw. I'm a big believer in piling up college starts (and wins, PAs, completions, TDs) to be a serious NFL QB prospect. He's a really interesting case especially with the trade up. Jets fell hard for another guy with limited experience in Sanchez and are still reeling from it. The one year starter thing was the only issue I had with Trubisky as a prospect. But he did get in 18 other games in college, so even with an upperclassmen incumbent starter, UNC still saw enough from him as a freshman and sophomore to throw him in a bunch of games and it's not like they were all blowouts either way. But piling up college stats has never been a prerequisite for a good QB, as the college football all-time passing leaderboard is filled with terrible NFL prospects. Carson Wentz only had 40 more PAs (10 more completions) and 4 more TDs despite many more starts. Then of course, there's Cam Newton who was a 1-year starter that was an NFL MVP. Tom Brady who was back and forth on the bench in college. Matt Cassel, who like never started in college and was at least a serviceable starter in the NFL. Obviously, those guys are the exceptions to the rule, but Trubisky has all the tools (accuracy, arm strength, mobility, ability to go thru progressions) to succeed.
  8. Cubs have won every other game in the playoffs. Gotta win 2 straight at some point if they want to win this series.
  9. What the hell kind of rule is "you have to let the guy score"?
  10. Giving up leadoff dongs is the new bullpen thing this series.
  11. How you end up with Kevin White instead of 2016 sack champion, Vic Beasley.
  12. If you told me Quintana would get thru 7 with 0 runs, I'd probably take Kershaw shutting us down for 3 more innings and going well over 100 pitches, over the Cubs knocking him out in this or the next inning.
  13. Good Lord. He only catches that if he's positioned on the warning track.
  14. How about this scenario? What about Lackey starting Game 1, with Lester as the piggyback in relief? Try to get Lackey thru 3-4, try to get Lester thru 3-4. With Davis potentially unavailable, if the Cubs do somehow have a lead on Kershaw, they could get by with only 1-2 innings from their other relievers. Game 1 going that way would allow the Cubs to bring back Lester to start Game 5 (and have him in the pen for a potential Game 7). Starting Lester in Game 2, means him starting game 6, which means no Lester in a potential Game 7. It would also set up Q and Hendricks in 6 and 7 which I like, especially with Lester (proven out of the pen) and Arrieta (stuff plays best out of the pen of the remaining SP) available in the last game. 1- Lackey/Lester 2- Q 3- Hendricks 4- Arrieta 5- Lester 6- Q 7- Hendricks
  15. And the Cubs DID beat Strasburg and Scherzer 3 times in this series!
  16. WC Clinch 1-game playoff win NLDS win Division clinch NLDS win NLCS win WS win Division clinch NLDS win This team has celebrated on the field 9 times in 24 months.
  17. I'd guess it's going to go to Duensing.
  18. Holy horsefeathers! Cubs got a gift in this one. My nerves can't handle this.
  19. ahahaha. That's probably the right call, but I didn't think that could be reversed.
  20. Stop horsefeathering walking people!
