  1. Sending anyone else, would have been a terrible call. Sending Baez was just a bad call that allowed magic to happen.
  2. It’s really going to come down to how good Trubisky is. Feels like all the other pieces are in place to be successful. And actually even if Trubisky is meh I’m sure Nagy can gameplan around it and put together a competent enough offense to go with a dominating defense Trubisky just has to not be stupid for the Bears to be a really good team. Trubisky was not stupid last year and was playing games with no receivers. He basically has to be Alex Smith. Under Nagy, KC basically averaged half their yards after the catch. Smith just got rid of the ball and let the athletes run with it. Just be accurate in the short range, take checkdowns if they are given, take chances deep when they present themselves.
  3. Friday night is big time annoying because it was super winnable, but the Cubs have been handling really good pitchers left and right lately, so writing off today already seems like jumping a bit far to a conclusion already. "Handling" seems a bit unfair also. They certainly didn't "handle" DeGrom and Scherzer by scoring 1 run on them in 15 innings. They survived them. My lack of faith is more in Lester than the offense.
  4. Aren’t they currently 1.5 games into a wild card spot? Ah, forgot about the WC.
  5. Really wish they could've pulled out that game Friday night. I don't have much faith today, but ultimately it's fine. They can lose today and neither the Brewers or Cardinals would be able to catch the Cubs in the next series. But win today, beat the Brewers 2 of 3, and their season is pretty much over.
  6. This is 54. Somebody else is going to have to go. I'm assuming Grasu. But 6 OLBs seem like much with Mack and Floyd at 1-2. But I'd imagine they'd keep all of them until Mack gets fully up to speed. I'd cut Grasu. Probably add a swing OT (Austin Pasztor is a guy cut that I like) and a CB and cut Cooper and Sowell. Then in Week 2, bring back John Jenkins and cut one of those OLBs (Fitts to PS?). But the best thing about this roster, and probably the main reason I was all-in on this Mack trade.....the only significant free agents are Goldman, Amos, Callahan and Massie. Goldman is getting re-signed, I don't think that's an issue. Amos isn't going to break the bank with the safety market this offseason. Even if he does(for some other team), from all accounts, Deon Bush looks ready to step up if needed. Another offseason and Coward may be ready to replace Massie. He was a DL last year that forced himself on the 53 with a strong camp/preseason. Could be ready to start at RT this time next year. Callahan could get pricey, but this is where I think the Bears add a cheap replacement either in FA or with their 3rd round draft pick next year. Of course, this is counting on guys staying healthy and performing but this roster could be almost set in stone for the next 2-3 years. We'll see if it's good enough.
  7. It's 2 firsts going to the Raiders, at least.
  8. It is. My guess 1st and 5th in 2019. 3rd in 2020. And Nick Kwiatkoski
  9. You were saying? Reverse jinx!
  10. Don't think Pace has the balls to go all out for Mack. No 2nd next year. So, does he really want to be without a top 75 pick next year and pay a guy close (or more than) 20Mil/year? Plus, there could be other picks/players going to Oakland.
  11. They're going to lose this damn game.
  12. Of course, now he plays Bote everyday when he's not hitting anything.
  13. How the hell was Ball 1 to Happ a ball?
  14. That's a good win. I hate these 1-game makeup road games. I don't want to see Atlanta in the playoffs. I mean, the Cubs would beat them in 4 of 5 or 5 of 7, but they'd annoy the horsefeathers out of me with every game full of nailbiters.
  15. I know Wilson is good now. But he still scares me. Probably would have kept in Chavez, and I'd be losing now.
  16. The site has boats, the lineup does not.
  17. Like I said before, I'm not used to 2 QB leagues, but based on how they are valued in your league, I think you have to consider keeping three of Brady, Wentz, Smith and Mariota. Also, I know that in keeper leagues that early R1 draft picks aren't as valuable as in standard, but I would at least consider keeping one of Collins and McKinnon and tossing back Zeke, unless you think he's a top 2 RB, which I don't. If it were me, it would be Thomas, Smith, Wentz, Mariota, Collins. I think Zeke's a top 3 RB. He hasn't really been hurt and has been a top back on a per game basis in his 2 years, especially non PPR. Thomas for 9th is a no-brainer. I'd probably only keep 2 QBs, you can always add a 3rd in the draft. Smith and Wentz would be my choices. Collins > McKinnon in non-PPR and I don't like McKinnon's chances of staying healthy with full RB load. I think OP was on the right track.
  18. Love. F the preseason. No need to risk injury to someone super important. They've practiced. They've scrimmaged teams. They played a couple preseason games. Playing a half game 2 weeks before the season isn't going to get them any readier to the point that it's worth risking a long-term injury ala Meredith last year.
  19. Yeah, what the hell? I'm actually appalled by that AB.
