  1. Bilal Nichols may be the 2nd best defensive lineman on this team right now.
  2. LaVine serious about becoming a star. He's been great thru 2 games.
  3. Gotcha. I'm not sure that Trubisky's bad throws are worse or more frequent than the majority of other QBs though. Definitely similar to guys of a similar age/experience level. So, I'm not going to be too hard on him for that. Especially seems like an odd takeaway in a game he threw the go-ahead TD with 3 minutes left, and was 4-4 on potential game winning drives after that (1 in Regulation, 1 in OT). Just seems like the Bears caught a bunch of bad breaks. It was 105 degrees. There was a horrible OPI call. There was a lucky bounce on an OT reception, which featured a blatant missed holding call. There was the :00 playclock on the long Gore run in OT. If only 1 of those things doesn't happen, they probably win the game.
  4. Other than the whole missing wide open receivers thing How many times did this actually happen? Honest question, I missed the first half. Didn't see him miss in the 2nd. He completed 70% again.
  5. Hate settling for a long ass FG. Get the 1st down then set up the FG.
  6. Biggest break is getting it at the 20
  7. Defense shits the bed. Never expected that.
  8. Still feel like this game is closer to the first 3 games. Offense a little rusty after scripted plays. Defense keeping the other team behind. But I'm hoping for more of the offense picking it up late vs. the defense coming up with a score late. Then again, just win.
  9. Dolphins undecided on if Tannehill will start this game. Line has moved from Bears -2 to them being 6 point favorites this morning. With either no Tannehill or hurt Tannehill, this makes sense. FWIW, Osweiler is 2-0 vs. the Bears with 4 TDs and 1 INT. Won as a Broncos starter in 2015. Won as Texans starter in 2016.
  10. I'd put it at about a 70% chance that every single one of these things happen tomorrow.
  11. Tannehill showed up on the injury report today as limited with a shoulder issue. Could definitely make it 4 this week.
  12. After the 3-1 start, the Bears season is going to come down to beating teams they should beat and not getting embarrassed in the division. They had the Cleveland game last year, but other than that, the Bears haven't had very many games in the last 4 years where they look like the clearly superior team. I count 5 more on the schedule: Bills, Jets, Giants, SF (without Jimmy G), and Miami. Miami is probably the closest of these teams to the Bears, but they looked bad on paper before the season and have looked bad the last 2 weeks, despite a good start last week. They've beaten the Jets and Raiders, who are among the bottom 5 teams in the league. And they beat Tennessee in a 7-hour rain delayed game at home. The Bears get 3 of the 5 inferior teams in the next 4 weeks, which means they have a legitimate shot of at least being 6-2 at the halfway point. That would guarantee them 1st place thru 8 games. If the Bears can win all 5 they should, that's 8 wins. The other 7 games, against teams that are likely contenders, feature 5 home games....with only Thanksgiving and Week 17 on the road in the division. This does seem like a potential "trap" game though, as the Bears are a rhythm offense that had it's momentum stopped for 2 weeks. Miami has a pretty good secondary and a couple of pass rushers, so I could see the Bears starting off slow offensively. The defense should be able to generate pressure though and eventually force some turnovers to turn the game their way.
  13. Will be eternally pissed that the Penguins kinda ruined the Hawks' decade. I could be off-base and biased, but I feel like the Blackhawks 3 rings this decade came against a more competitive NHL, definitely think the Hawks' faced better teams in the West in their run than the Pens did vs. the East in their runs. There's probably isn't quite over yet though.
  14. Agreed, but Shaheen, Prince, and Miller should all be healthy by week 6? I'd imagine Miller will be able to go. Prince hopefully also. Shaheen is on IR designated to return though and he can't come back until after the 8th game.
  15. That he's really good. And his "down" year would have still made him the best player on a Cubs team that has a top 3 MVP candidate? it's a question about how much he's worth and what the cubs should give him. but how was he better than baez this season? He's 25. He's worth whatever a team can afford. OPS seems like a simple way Harper > Baez this year.
  16. That he's really good. And his "down" year would have still made him the best player on a Cubs team that has a top 3 MVP candidate?
  17. We need a guy who can put the bat on the ball in clutch situations (to move runners over, to hit a sacrifice fly, etc.). I'm tired of watching batter after batter swing for the fences and then strike out with men in scoring position. We have too many all-or-nothing hitters. I'm tired of this constant complaint at the end of every Cubs season. A certain segment of the audience always claims the thing the Cubs need is fewer all or nothing hitters and more contact guys. Does this player even exist anymore? Players are striking out at record levels. And the Cubs had Zobrist, Murphy, Rizzo, and Heyward who put the ball in play. Almora not too bad either. That's plenty of non-all or nothing hitters.
  18. Kinda wish Gore didn't steal so I could watch him score from 1st on that hit.
  19. Going to go out on a limb and say the Rockies don't want to go too far with their short-rest starter the 3rd time thru the order.
  20. No way if still 1-0 Barring a home run in front of Lester, his next at bat will either be with runners on in the 5th, or leading off the 6th. He can't be allowed to take either of those at bats. Have you seen the bullpen? If it's still 1-0 and he's not losing it.....tough decision. Especially if leading off the 6th. All the PHs are LH.
  21. Almora geeked about a routine catch at the wall.
  22. I hope this is true, and one of them is NOT tonight.
  23. "Blitz" by their metrics is rushing more than 4. So, zone blitzes don't actually count as blitzes. Therefore the sacks by Trevathan and Smith, which were done while rushing 4, don't count as blitzes. That being said, I'd love to see their numbers when rushing 5 or more. Has to be insane if 1 of those 5 is Mack.
