  1. SEriously? That's the play call on 3rd and 4?
  2. Damn. Hicks re-injured it looks like
  3. Well that's a terrible horsefeathering call.
  4. Bears haven't blocked Kenny Clark since at least 2016
  5. Run the ball. Set up the playaction. Run with Trubisky. Basically the same as last week. Trubisky will have to make throws in man coverage to win this game. Most likely to Robinson vs. Jaire Alexander (a really good CB), and to Miller against whoever they choose to cover him.
  6. have we heard anything on whether trevathan can possibly come back this year? i don't think he's been IRed The Bears IR'd Roquan today and replaced him on the active roster with.......a LB. The Bears have Kwitkoski, Pierre-Louis, Iyiejbuniwe, and Woods as healthy ILBs on the roster. Replacing Roquan with a ILB, likely means they don't anticipate Trevathan this week. I don't think they'd bring in a guy to the active roster if they planned on making him inactive (which he would be if Trevathan was playing). Guessing this is a week-to-week thing. If they lose this game and the Vikings and Rams win, maybe they shut Trevathan down. But if they are still in it and he can play, he will.....just not this week.
  7. Love the Hoosiers' bowl selection. I wanted the Gator in particular, because it's played in January. Not that it means a whole lot anymore, but this is just the 3rd January bowl game for IU. And getting what is historically a football school was ideal for me, as it can't hurt with recruiting to beat a team from the South on a national stage.
  8. Allen 7 years, 27M+ to stay at IU. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  9. Qb- Trubisky. Add a better backup QB, that is enough of a threat to push Trubisky, but not so much of one to cost $10M/year. RB- Montgomery, Cohen. Bring Nall back, because he's cheap. But I'd also like an actual RB. If Monty goes down, ugh. Probably use a very late pick here again. WR- Robinson, Miller, Wims, Ridley, Patterson. Cut Gabriel and save some money. Would like to replace his speed somehow though. Vet FA should do. TE- I'd actually bring back Burton (not big money savings to cut) and Shaheen (camp body at worst). Holtz, Horstead, Raymond compete for spots. Love to use one of the 2nds and get a top 2-3 TE in the draft. But may be able to wait for mid rounds. OL- Whitehair, Daniels, Leno and Massie aren't going anywhere for $$ reasons. I'd spend big on a RG. Upgrading OL is the easiest, most realistic way to upgrade this roster. Better OL = better pass protection, better run game. Brandon Scherff, Joe Thuney, Andrus Peat big names potentially available this offseason. DL- Only stand to lose Black Nick. Should be cheap enough to re-sign. If not, still have Goldman, Hicks, RRH (who is a RFA), Nichols, and others at back of roster and practice squad. ILB- Smith. I'd see who takes the cheapest contract between Trevathan and Haha. Kwitkoski a backup plan here. Josh Woods and Joel Igieybuniwe are long-shot athletes that I like, but maybe special teamers only.....need a vet here if no Trevathan. OLB- Mack, Floyd. I know a lot of people don't want to pay Floyd 13M for that 5th year option next year, but may not have a choice. Upgrade at pass rusher would be similar in cost to Floyd. And still need depth. Not sure what to do here. Too many other needs for a high draft pick here. Too much money spent on the position to justify another FA. CB- I think Prince gets cut w/ 13M price tag. Toliver, Skrine, Shelley, and hopefully a high draft pick compete opposite of Fuller and for slot. S- Jackson, and the rest are FAs. I'd try to re-sign Haha. If not, I'd take Bush back for cheap. Maybe both, but Bush may want a chance to get more PT if Haha is back. Vet FA and late draft pick likely here.
  10. It also took at least 3 points off the board (2nd & 7, from the 19) when the team was down 7, after allowing several 3rd down conversions on the previous drive while losing its best ILB. You can hold the INT against him while still acknowledging he played well. I'm willing to excuse some bad throws/INTs, but rarely are they ok in the red zone. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk where are you getting 3 points? With Piniero, that's not a given Should have said "at least a shot at 3 points". No FG is a given anymore for basically anyone. But every NFL team has every right to expect at least 3 points inside the 20. I'd rather have a chance at points than turning the ball over. 11. We need more viable edge rushers badly. Leno and Massie are locked in with their salaries already. I'd prefer a vet pickup there. The draft class is strong at edge and we could get something really nice to complement Mack. I've seen enough of Floyd to know that he is an utter JAG. Keep grooming Bars and hope he can supplant Massie next year at some point. edge was the other position of need I was thinking about, but if we are looking at replacing Massie with a project, I want more options. Also, Leno sucks, contract be damned. That guy gets blown up nearly every damn play. This is actually not true. He's rated as the 4th most effective pass blocker in the league. https://twitter.com/jennifermleno/status/1199373754494787585?s=19 And eye test, he's the best run blocker on the team. Montgomery had a lot of success going left last night. Trubisky's TD featured him as the key block. I think his pass blocking looks worse because he does look bad when giving up sacks/pressure. He flat out gets trashed on his bad plays, but they are actually pretty few and far between overall. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk

  13. Yeah this is really a big deal. Short game has been frustrating because it's been Robinson going to the ground to make a catch or Cohen reaching behind and losing speed to turn the corner. Nobody cares if Mitch throws short if they are turning into Patterson's play. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  14. The accuracy! Lol Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  15. First time scoring 4 offensive TDs this season. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  16. White hands, white laces. I'm just saying.
  17. HE'S GOT LEGS! AND HE REMEMBERED HOW TO USE THEM!
  18. Ok this is when you have to NOT allow Dallas back in this game. Make another stop, then get more points. Best offensive showing of the season shouldn't end with only 24 points. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk

  21. I really don't think Nagy wants to be very conservative. The Bears aren't conservative because Nagy just wants the defense to keep it close. The game plan winds up being conservative because the offensive line can't block, the QB can't do much good and the RBs can't make a play on their own. Yep.
  22. They already beat one of the teams remaining, without Hicks, Smith and with a backup QB. They have the same record as another. I agree the other teams are all better, but we've seen recently, basically this same Bears team being very capable of beating each of these teams. That being said, I expect 1-3. 23. This is probably a bad matchup for the Bears. Cowboys are #1 in total offense. Most passing yards, and a top 10 rushing unit. Defense is very similar to the Bears across the board, except for their run D is middle of the pack, which the Bears don't have the ability to exploit. They protect the QB better than anybody (most passing attempts, fewest sacks allowed). The Bears only chance is to get turnovers. The Cowboys are -4 in TO ratio, despite not turning the ball over a ton (16 times), so they don't force very many TOs. Oddly enough, those 16 turnovers have come almost exclusively in their losses. 2 fumbles and an INT vs. NO 3 INTs and 2 missed FG vs GB missed FG in 2pt loss to NYJ missed FG and INT vs. MIN missed FG, blocked punt & INT vs NE 2 missed FGs, 2 turnovers vs BUF
  24. Bears got some unlikely help today from the Dolphins and Redskins. Seahawks are now the Bears' second favorite team as they get the Vikings and Rams next 2 (tomorrow and next week). Part of me really hates that there's still hope.
  25. That's my hope as well. I'd also love to see IU against a big named, former powerhouse program like Florida State, Tennessee, USC, or A&M. CBS has IU in Yankee Stadium vs Pitt and UK vs. Iowa State in the Liberty. ESPN has 2 separate projectors, one person each picks them in the Gator, but not against each other.
