Angels > A's The Cubs need a 5 hitter & a #3. fine, they're one of the better teams in the west. plus, they have this thing called the wild card now. in any event, the a's are better than the cubs, and i think it'll take more than prospects to get him. the only reason i want him is to spin him for tejada. The AL Wild Card's reserved for either Boston or New York. well, i don't think oakland's ready to concede that fact in december, especially since it took ny/bos til game 160 or so to clinch the WC last year. I don't think it is clear cut that Anaheim is a better team than Oakland at this point. Zito/Harden/Haren/Blanton/whomever is a better rotation than Anaheim will throw out there. While Oakland doesn't have anyone of Vlad's caliber on offense, Anaheim isn't exactly a threat to set scoring records. I have trouble thinking of one other player on that team that I'm confident will be an above average offensive player at his position in 2006. Meanwhile, Oakland has a bunch of guys that will probably be above average to make up for the fact that they don't have that elite cornerstone. Given their pitching advantage, I'd say it is at least a tossup in that division and it could very well come down to health.
