  1. Ehh, IMO Tillman has significantly regressed this year. Leading the NFC in tackles from the CB position is nothing to be proud of, all it means is hes playing soft and giving up receptions, his tackles arent on running backs. He might be up there on passes defensed, but thats only because hes getting thrown to a ton. But yes, he does have big picks which makes everyone forget about the many many many 8-18 yard receptions hed given up. I haven't had a chance to watch a lot of games in detail, but has Tillman really regressed or are the Bears asking him to play soft so they can shade the safeties towards Vasher on the other side of the field? I got the impression they're isolating him more this season and telling him to play soft because he's not getting as much deep help from the safety in this scheme.
  2. Hill's stuff will play in the majors. Whether he's going to be a middle reliever or a frontline starter comes down to two things: 1) Can he bring the command he found in the minors last year to the majors? He wasn't able to do so in 2005, but that was his debut. If he can avoid the walks, that's a real big first step. 2) Can he avoid the home runs? Last year he gave up taters at a somewhat frightening pace in the minors, but wasn't impacted that much on ERA because he wasn't allowing baserunners. If he's going to become an impact guy, this problem as got to go away. If the Cubs scouts feel he's going to get past these two things, he could become one of those rare starters who blossoms at a later age. If so, he has dominating stuff. But the chances of anybody making such a transition at that stage of his career is pretty low. He made great progress on the first one last year in the minors. But he has to carry it forward and add in control of the home runs.
  3. Were there any performance issues today? Because we had well over 100,000 page loads today alone. While not a record for NSBB, that is certainly well above average.
  4. Well, that's because that wasn't implemented as a standalone improvement. It comes as part of a modification that is a wholsale replacement for the profile control panel.
  5. Do Rohlicek and Sing getting picked in the Rule 5 count as Cubs transactions?
  6. BTW - I'd also grant him a pardon if Len logs into his account and admits he misled poor m4d through IM.
  7. He'll get a pardon and an apology if that happens.
  8. You know, if he replaced Hendry we'd have Zito and Furcal on the Cubs...
  9. I think the latter is better at least for tonight. But there's blood in the waters. I think people want to see an execution. I guess I tipped my hand as being one of those people. But, after significant thought nearly 30 seconds in length, I have a question... Can we tag all of his posts with a signature he can't change? We could if we banned him.
  10. Here's a question.... 1) Ban him or 2) keep him around for entertainment value, but change his title to "WARNING - I like to start false rumors"?
  11. Hopefully you aren't losing as much running this site as Steinbrenner is running the Yankees. No, not that much!
  12. I'll think about that. I like to keep premium as ad-free as possible. One advantage of it is that if you are on a slow connection, you can turn off all avatars, sig pictures and pictures within posts so that it downloads quickly. Banner ads would defeat the purpose of that.
  13. Not a bad idea. I'll have to do that this weekend.
  14. I'll try and dig that up.
  15. you actually get to start seven false trade rumors before you get canned. No, you don't. If this one isn't confirmed, he's gone.
  16. Regardless, he should still be available as a C in most leagues in 2006. ;)
  17. IMO, LoDuca = overrated However, it's still a pretty good trade for the Mets. As for the Marlins... Attn: Fantasy Baseball Players -- pick up Josh Willingham in your draft. He should be available as a low round pick. Consider these numbers from AAA last year: .324/.455/.676/1.131.
  18. The $$$$ I have to put out to my server company tonight for December's payment!
  19. If Ronny comes near this line next year, the Cubs will be in great shape will him at either at 2B or SS. I'd honestly take the .357 as his OBP, it's a heckuva lot better than the Neifster. The problem is that you can't count on him hitting .300 to reach that kind of OBP. If you take his BA down to a pretty impressive rookie level of .270, then he's about Neifi's equal on offense. He'll have downstream upside if we can live with that for a year, but that means upgrading the OF performance quite a bit, which has obviously yet to be done.
  20. Has slowed down again. For instance, in November there were 1,310,876 page impressions and only 875 clicks on the google ads. The other ads on the site are seeing similar performance or even worse. I'm getting things ironed out with the performance issues with the help of my wonderful new hosting company. But this host is pretty darned pricey and November revenues for NSBB ran at a loss. Please continue to support NSBB by supporting our sponsors (or at least take a minute to check them out!). Thanks for your help. :D
  21. One step closer to a full-time SS job in the majors. :D
  22. Yes, Len Kasper's account here is 100% definite.
  23. I'd have a tendency to believe AramisFan if he says he talked to Len over PM, actually.
  24. Interesting. It must use the search functions for something. Because the only changes made were to go through and comment out those functions and replace the search page with the message.
