  1. Not a draft guy, but wanted to say, "Hi Vance!!!"
  2. Based on the statistical models, he's the safest guy in the class.
  3. That's a bit unfair. Hockey players don't take quite as long as MLB to develop, but it's not dissimilar. Talk to me again this time next year and let's see where we're at.
  4. Going into tonight, they were projected at something like 26 picks in the top three rounds in the past four years. I'm okay with consolidating some of that value in guys they believe in
  5. My comments from elsewhere... Frondell has question marks, but I'm pretty confident there's solid reasons why he had some uneven play. For example, his performance in a tournament is being held against him, but he played in a playoff game, took a red-eye flight to america, played a subpar hockey game without a practice on a sheet of ice 60% the size he was used to One thing I hate about sports...Florida has won with size & toughness that past couple years, so now everyone is drafting & signing big FA to try to chase success Hawks took a guy last year with a similar HS football profile. Interesting note for predicting their future picks Hawks are probably playing it right here. The for sure guy up top, then two upside swings late in the first round
  6. I'm okay with Hagens. I'm fine with Desnoyers or Martone. I'm happy with Frondell. But I'm loving the increasing buzz about Misa slipping to the Hawks at #3.
  7. There are rumors of San Jose preferring Frondell to Misa, which would make Misa available to the Hawks at #3. Very probably false, but here's hoping.
  8. Who knew it was Tom holding him back this whole time?!?
  9. Hopefully his time in AAA will help him reset
  10. We could do Manny Rodriguez again.
  11. I think the stars for Edmonton come up big, they win in six, and I barf as Stan gets credit for "putting them over the top".
  12. Bowman is in Edmonton now, right? If that's the finals matchup, I gotta root for Seth.
  13. I pull for him since he went to my high school (~40 years later). But this is pretty much out of nowhere consider the rest of this year.
  14. He struggled with mechanical issues and yet had a 3.49 ERA, 3.10 FIP; 9.21 K/9, 2.86 BB/9. I get why he was targeted. I would have preferred to just sign Robertson. In fact, let's just sign Robertson now and add him to the pen.
  15. I think I go Misa --gap-- Frondell, Desnoyers --gap-- Martone as my favorite options at #3.
  16. I would think 3, 27, 34 would be the first few picks
  17. Desnoyers, too
  18. Definitely a nice start for him.
  19. Yes. And a trade for another top liner.
  20. I was going to joke that they should trade their best player for the #3 pick...but there's nobody on that team I'd trade the #3 pick for. Kempe may be the only one I'd trade the Toronto first round pick for.
  21. I think I like Frondell the best of the available choices. He did well against men in the top league in Sweden this year. Basically I'd have 3-6 in the reverse order of Wheeler at the moment.
  22. PCA k% down below 20. Up to 23 straight PA without a K
  23. which would be awesome. Because...Leafs. But also to make that pick as early as possible.
