I may have mentioned it here before, but I used to play on a suburban softball team with him. From about 2005-2007 he was our pitcher. Just as everyone who speaks about him says, he is a quiet, unassuming guy. Very nice, likable, and without question a huge Cub fan. Throughout my time knowing him, we spoke of the Cubs frequently, and he was always informed and current with his knowledge of the team. Not once did I broach the topic of game 6, and I'm glad I didn't. In our time in the league, I think just one opponent realized who he was, but I don't believe they ever said anything about it to him.

I'm not coming in on the side of "full of factual errors", but two minor things I saw: 1. In one of the very opening sequences, they show a CGI version of Wrigley's scoreboard, with the yellow team names and numbers from the center of the scoreboard as 3-0, clearly to represent the score of the game prior to the Bartman play. But on the Wrigley scoreboard, that tracks the number of hits for each team, not the score. 2. When talking about Game 7, Lyons said something to the effect that the winner of this game had to focus on winning, to go play the Yankees. NLCS game 7 was played the same day as ALCS game 6, with their game 7 the following day. While I don't really count it, as it was simply dramatic effect, but they showed a shot of the back of the scoreboard (the neon) as if it would be viewable on the way to the security guards apartment, but she lived in the opposite direction (they said on Eddy).

Romo deserves his share of the blame for the fumble when if he throws it away, it's an easy FG. BUT...the turning point was the blocked punt. That turned it from a 14 pt lead to a 7 point lead. Sure, the Jets may still have driven the length of the field after the punt and cut the lead to seven, but I think that play was a bigger deal than the Romo fumble. Both were big gaffes, for certain. The blocked punt tied it.

Was that intended to be serious or just a pointless crack at Crane Kenney? Serious, but sarcastic knowing that Kenney is in the way of the Cubs offering his title to someone like Epstein. Although, maybe in the end, Ricketts is willing to change Kenney's title and offer it to one of the "big fish"? It may take a promotion offer in order to hire Epstein, Cashman or Freidman. Please let me know how many times you need to be told that Kenney is not in charge of baseball operation? That way we can get this nonsense over with. Crane Kenney is Team President, is he not? So give Epstein the title "King of Baseball Operations". That would solve your "lateral move" issue. It's just a title. -
Couldn't we pick up Dempster's option in order to have more time to negotiate and then re-work his contract? In theory we could pick up Dempster's option immediately, continue to work on a new deal, and then pursue Wilson. If we don't get Wilson, leave Demp's contract alone, let him go in 2013, and then pursue a Cain or Greinke. But it's a player option.

This doesn't affect his cap hit for this year. His 3.9 stays intact, next year begins the extension, at 5.9 per.

If by "brings in", you mean pitched the previous inning, and then left him in so as not to burn an extra pitcher for no reason, then yes.
