  1. Because Maddux was better. In 1279 innings with the Cubs Wood compiled a WAR of 24.1. Maddux, 2016 innings, 31.5 WAR.

  3. So every third year, we'd play the Sox 7, possibly 8 times. 4 rivalry games 3 (possibly 4) NL Central vs AL Central
  4. Braun and Tulo?
  5. That was Dusty's fault. He should have come out after that. Yeah, after the 2nd inning.
  6. May 16, 2012 February 10, 2011 May 16, 2008
  7. Did the Bears just draft their Hayden Simpson?
  8. Do you mean the Target ad? I think the Target logo is where the Under Armor logo used to be. Nah. The Under Armor is still there. There used to be nothing where they put the Target logo. pic There is also something on the door in left center. "Revis" or "Bevis" or something. I finally went to a Cubs game last night and saw what you were talking about. The ad is for Tervis Tumblers, those weird insulated cups that keep drinks warm or cold. http://www.tervis.com/ I was there last night too, they actually changed the signage on the door. For the first home stand it was simply their name in lettering running up the door.
  9. Watching the gamecast has been crazy.
  10. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN198706220.shtml Nice.

  12. It looks to me from one of the photos that the basket is already there.

  14. The Sonics are quite good.
  15. I can think of another reason.
  16. In the regular season.
  17. Tied for the 13th fewest points scored since the shot clock came to be. http://nbahoopsonline.com/History/Records/pointsfew.html
  18. He's actually taking the "over" for team wins. http://www.betus.com.pa/sportsbook/mlb-baseball_futures-regular_season_wins.aspx http://www.sportsbettinglines.com/baseball/mlb-season-team-win-totals/
  19. I jusy got through, and he's right, it is charging 140 face, before charges.
  20. Yup. At least for the Boston games. What? $78 face 12% entertainment fee would be $9.36 $53 shipping charge per ticket?
  21. I was at this match, first row on the pitch, directly behind the goal (the one where Spurs scored their initial two, and Arsenal scored their 3 in the second half). Possibly the best sporting environment I have ever experienced. Exhilarating.
  22. This is great.
  23. Whatever you think about the Bulls chances vs. the Heat, their overall record means pretty much nothing. I feel like even the smartest people here have a blindside when it comes to analyzing other sports because they're so ingrained in baseball. You can't apply the same reasoning you do with baseball that you do to basketball. The Bulls going 3-1 during the regular season vs. the Heat meant nothing last year. NBA teams(with a few exceptions, the Bulls being one of them) simply don't bring it on every night during the regular season. The NBA playoffs are completely different than the regular season. 3-0.
  24. I doubt Deuce moves his family out of London. For me it's either Arsenal or he stays at Fulham. As a sports fan used to North American sports, it still boggles my mind that London can support 5 (!!) soccer teams playing in the same league. Why? It's not all that different than Chicago supporting the Bulls, Blackhawks, Sox, Cubs, and Bears. It's not like they have other huge sports draws. There's lots of people who are fans of several of the Chicago teams. You don't see too many ManU/Arsenal fans. Those two aren't both in London, but your point remains.
  25. Well, the "significantly more home games" played aside (it's two more than the Blues), he's right about their record being better.
