  1. With that mustache, I can't even be upset with him.
  2. And only a girl from Indiana or North Dakota would say that.
  3. his game thread posts have allowed him to blow by me in post count About to catch Jon for #3 all time
  4. Gentlemen, we may experience Fred 40,000th post tonight.
  5. Brilliant fan throws it back. What would Marty say?
  6. The following games were not on your list Cubs 3 Dbacks Cards 1 Reds 3 Brewers
  7. If he can pitch a complete game, he'll be able to, so most likely in his next start he'll qualify Pitchers need 1 inning pitched per team game played to qualify, right? yeah i'm pretty sure http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/official_rules/official_scorer_10.jsp Absolutely.
  8. He is still very much a Cubs fan. Talks about them all the time, and is very much up to date. He lives a normal life, doing normal things.
  9. I think that Selig has done many great things for the game and generally gets an unfair rap. This though, is absolutely absurd if true.
  10. While on my way to the game on Saturday, the tent next to Casey Moran's (Clark and Waveland) was having a clearnace sale. Everything there was $5, and there were some Sosa Tshirt jerseys.
  11. Depends on what you mean by "better" You really could make a case for either. 21 men put the ball in play against Buehrle yesterday. 7 did against Kerry. 8 no? Len said 7. I trust him, i was just counting like this 20 k's 7 other outs 1 hit
  12. Depends on what you mean by "better" You really could make a case for either. 21 men put the ball in play against Buehrle yesterday. 7 did against Kerry. 8 no?
  13. You're a moran. With a capitol M!
  14. How is that giant baseball signed by Jeter, Williams and Aaron a heck of a metaphor for what's coming to KC? And how did they get Williams to sign it?
  15. Angels, A's, Pirates and Cubs were the teams without any game action.
  16. Fred, et al... Goose Island postgame for me, give me a call if you want to stop by.
  17. Remaining common off days: 7.15 (day after allstar game) 9.3 (likely the 6.16 makeup date) 9.10 (would create 32 consecutive days with a game for the Cubs, 24 for the Sox, when coupled with a 9.3 makeup) As I see it, if something were to happen today, either a 9.3 double header, or a weekend crosstown double header has to happen. That said, it is clear blue skies from my loop office window.
  18. Pairs for tomorrow Singles for Thursday
  19. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teams/minnatte.shtml 2000/2001 is certainly the line.
  20. Mauer bought over 100 tkts to this game since hes from the area He was born in Minneapolis/St paul, and went to high school there.
  21. Obviously very simplistic, but taking all players in the active top 100 list (55 wins), and assuming 15 wins per season, here are the pitchers who would reach 300 at the youngest age: Note, I gave each on the list 5 more wins to get through this season. Also, I kept Moyer in there artificially. Player (age) Age at 300 C.C. Sabathia (28) 39.5 Carlos Zambrano (28) 41.0 Mark Buehrle (30) 41.1 Jon Garland (29) 41.3 Jake Peavy (28) 41.6 Jeremy Bonderman (26) 41.7 Roy Oswalt (31) 41.9 Johan Santana (30) 41.9 Andy Pettitte (37) 42.0 Dontrelle Willis (27) 42.1 Roy Halladay (32) 42.3 Barry Zito (31) 42.3 Josh Beckett (29) 42.3 Pedro Martinez (37) 42.4 Brett Myers (28) 42.8 Tim Hudson (33) 42.9 Javier Vazquez (32) 42.9 Oliver Perez (27) 42.9 Danny Haren (28) 43.1 John Lackey (30) 43.5 Livan Hernandez (34) 43.6 Mark Mulder (31) 43.8 Kevin Millwood (34) 43.9 Brandon Webb (30) 43.9 Jason Marquis (30) 43.9 Ben Sheets (30) 43.9 Joe Blanton (28) 44.0 Brad Penny (31) 44.1 Kyle Lohse (30) 44.2 Gil Meche (30) 44.3 Cliff Lee (30) 44.4 Joel Pineiro (30) 44.5 Vicente Padilla (31) 44.7 Jeff Suppan (34) 44.9 Jamie Moyer (46) 49.0
  22. Agreed completely. Zambrano Lilly Dempster Harden Wells I am a fan of Marshall, but who does he bump from the rotaion at this time? I am perfectly content riding Wells hot streak. Plus it'll keep some innings off Marshall arm.
