  1. How about those Brian Roberts / Kobe Bryant deals last time around? :)
  2. http://www.forbes.com/2006/04/17/06mlb_baseball-team-valuations-cx_mo_0420sports.html
  3. Who are these many middle infielders of whom you speak? Walker, Rnez, Perez, Bellhorn, Macias and DeRosa of course.
  4. Where are you getting that from?
  5. He's making 4 million either way, and would be signing with a new team who would only be responsible for the league minimum. Whether he latches on now, March, or July really makes no difference.
  6. You've got that right at least.
  7. Pretty sure Griffey signed as a FA with Cincy No. February 10, 2000: Traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Cincinnati Reds for Mike Cameron, Brett Tomko, Antonio Perez, and Jake Meyer (minors).
  8. Pretty sure Griffey signed as a FA with Cincy No. I believe Griffey and Cincy agreed to rework his contract so that much of it was deferred to fit into Cincy's budget. I think they're still paying him upwards of $10-$15 million to sit at home (or play for someone else). o 09:$16M club option ($4M buyout) o $57.5M in salary deferred at 4% interest, to be paid 2009-2024,  $5.5M of 2000 salary deferred  $6.5M/year of 2001-2008 salaries deferred o acquired by White Sox in trade from Cincinnati 7/31/08, Reds and White Sox splitting cost of Griffey's remaining 2008 salary and buyout of 2009 option
  9. There are four teams in this division that would wish they had that rotation, and the fifth should want it but wouldn't. yeah that's not a great rotation if you want to win a championship, but if you play in a lousy division it could easily be good enough. once again leaving this team division champion winners and ungracefully bowing out of the first round The 5th starter has ZERO impact on a playoff series. The 4th starter starts one game at most.
  10. In June. On the 23rd. In the 5th inning. At 8:07 PM Aparently as a DH.
  11. You could always buy a hard copy of it from the Tribune website for at most 2 dollars. He just wants to see the scan. I will see what I can do today. (It wont be in color)
  12. I'm glad he didn't post those other photos he made me take.
  13. 355 million dollars. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article2137250.ece
  14. A. Clearly a joke, sorry for any confussion. B. I agree, Braves are certainly out of the running now.
  15. WSCR the Score reports a trade is iminent, details after the break. :-))
  16. Gonna be great to see the time distribution (for tonight only) PG: Rose 30/Hinrich 10/Hughes 8 SG: Gordon 30/Sefolosha 12/Hughes 6 SF: Deng 20/Nocioni 20/Sefolosha 4/Thomas 4 PF: Thomas 20/Gooden 10/Nocioni 12 C: Gooden 25/Noah 20/Gray 3 Playing half of a quarter without a power forward is a risky move, we'll see how it works out. :D)
  17. I don't know that I have ever watched a game with as many lead changes, being so close throughout, be so completely terrible.
  18. And the cubs don't trade for more bats than they sign.
  19. Interesting. If it is only for "new" subscribers, I'd have to cancel mine, then open a new one.
  20. Trade is more likely, same way we got most of our good bats now. Oh? Free Agents Alfonso Soriano Milton Bradley Aaron Miles Kosuke Fukudome Joey Gathright Reed Johnson Trades Derrek Lee Aramis Ramirez System Geovany Soto Ryan Theriot Felix Pie Ronny Cedeno Mike Fontenot (or trade) Micah Hoffpauir At a quick glance, 67% of that list are not good bats. I was being thorough. Leaving just the "good" or were paid to be "good", and you statement is still far from accurate. Free Agents Alfonso Soriano Milton Bradley Kosuke Fukudome Trades Derrek Lee Aramis Ramirez System Geovany Soto Why would you leave "paid to be good" when I didn't say that? You keep trying to massage the numbers. This is a dicussion where you assert that the Cubs trade to fill holes with good players more often than the sign them via free agency. Fukudome is clearly an example of a signing of a "good" player. Keep trying to massage the numbers? Ok, I'll keep looking for these massive number of trades you're claiming.
