  1. Burrel was out no matter what. That is not what the issue was, Rollins was coming home (he thought)
  2. Hey Mark, you gonna catch me?
  3. Never doubt the Astros. Last week it was Pedro Martinez vs. Ezequiel Astacio. Pedro pitched like his usual self, but Astacio mowed down the Mets. The Astros won that game. At some point the better pitcher is going to win out, why not tonight? I'm not doubting you. I'm just pointing out that the team with the "better" pitcher doesn't always win. Anyone else just have 2003 NLCS flashback?

    If

Lee is great, but a .360 average? Come on... Just playing devil's advocate.
  5. Problem is, then you only have the acquisitions for a month + postseason if you make it. I think the end of July is the right balance of length into the season to determine who is competitive, and time left in the season for acquisitions to have a substantial impact. While I am niether advocating moving the dealing, it has been done before with against opposition with the same reasoning.
  6. My heart cannot take another game like last night. Listening to games on the radio because of no cable continues tonight.
  7. 26 already is out. Out before 10 was. And with any luck, 21 will be retired within a few years, also (depending on when he decides to hang them up) I would immagine that its kinda unofficially retired right now anyways, just like 23. I doubt anyone even thinks about wearing those numbers. Well, since the Cubs have retired exactly three numbers in over 100 years of existence, I doubt Sosa's # gets retired until he makes the Hall of Fame. Santo is the one exception to this rule so far (and I think his was only retired because of his continued work with the club + his failing health). Sandberg's will be retired at the start of next season I would imagine. #21 will be available for at least the next 6 or 7 years. Don't forget about 31 being on the flagpole one day. Twice.

  9. Kerry Robinson off Mike Remlinger. Don't get me started on that one.
  10. Yea, but I think he's still being tested. THe teller is going to be Post "Knee" surgery Bonds. If he comes back and hits .240 with 16 Homers, then we KNOW he is juicing. We wouldn't "KNOW" anything because of that. While I side on the belief he did use them, a decline in his numbers would not be sufficient at this point. He is 40+, coming off an injury, and has had a full year off. Those would also contribute to the decline.
  11. I find the term "rehab" funny in his case.
  12. Yes boo to him for not knowing the words. But it is better that he had them up there to help than if he just hummed it.
  13. Roast.... you wanna be real careful talking to them girls, son. Do you have any idea what that can lead to ??? Cooties?
  14. Nathan, Matt Stewart is my best friend. He tells me nothing but good things about you, except the thing the two of you have in common. All my best and go Chiefs, Gary
  15. Vizquel had to go a ways into the outfield. not a routine play and not on the infield. Doesnt matter where it is, it is at the umpires discression. The reason there was no call, as stated earlier is there must be runners on first and seond or bases loaded with fewer than 2 outs.

  17. He was US Cellular last Sunday for the Oakland game.
  18. I have a pair for the following day, section 314 row 22. Galwilly bought them as part of the 4 game package, but we got better seats for the same game. Just looking to recoup costs 30 for the pair. Gary 224-766-0556
  19. With two outs an the bases loaded, he could not possibly have batted. He was only there because MLB has a rule stating someone must be on deck, even if there is no chance the spot in the lineup can up\\come up
