  1. Lately people just say they should be executed.
  2. Putting runners on the move makes Garwilly happy.
  3. Furcal grounded out to third. Giles walked. Jones grounded into fielder´s choice to second, Giles out at second. Jones struck out swinging.
  4. I may post inning summaries once in a while, but also at work.
  5. Go Cubs "The longest journey starts with a single step"
  6. Yup, that would make more sense. And looking into it, Bobby Cox is/was the Braves manager from 1978-1981;1990-2005, thus negating a couple of their worst years. They lost 5 straight series last year, twice. 19 2004-04-26 ATL @SFG L 2-3 10-9 20 2004-04-27 ATL @SFG W 12-3 11-9 21 2004-04-28 ATL @SFG L 7-10 11-10 22 2004-05-01 ATL @COL L 2-3 11-11 23 ATL @COL W 11-7 12-11 24 2004-05-02 ATL @COL L 4-13 12-12 Game Date Team Opp Score W-L 25 2004-05-04 ATL SDP W 4-2 13-12 26 2004-05-05 ATL SDP L 0-2 13-13 27 2004-05-06 ATL SDP L 3-7 13-14 28 2004-05-07 ATL HOU L 3-5 13-15 29 2004-05-08 ATL HOU W 5-4 14-15 30 2004-05-09 ATL HOU L 1-2 14-16 31 2004-05-11 ATL @STL L 1-5 14-17 32 2004-05-12 ATL @STL L 2-5 14-18 33 2004-05-13 ATL @STL W 6-5 15-18 57 2004-06-08 ATL @DET W 4-3 29-28 58 2004-06-09 ATL @DET L 2-4 29-29 59 2004-06-10 ATL @DET L 4-7 29-30 60 2004-06-11 ATL @CHW W 6-4 30-30 61 2004-06-12 ATL @CHW L 8-10 30-31 62 2004-06-13 ATL @CHW L 3-10 30-32 63 2004-06-15 ATL KCR W 3-2 31-32 64 2004-06-16 ATL KCR L 4-10 31-33 65 2004-06-17 ATL KCR L 4-10 31-34 66 2004-06-18 ATL CLE L 2-4 31-35 67 2004-06-19 ATL CLE W 4-0 32-35 68 2004-06-20 ATL CLE L 2-5 32-36 69 2004-06-22 ATL @FLA L 3-4 32-37 70 2004-06-23 ATL @FLA L 0-6 32-38 71 2004-06-24 ATL @FLA W 9-4 33-38 And 6 straight this year. 7. #31 Greg Maddux 10-9, 4.40 http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_118120.jpg vs. #26 Jeff Francis 11-9, 5.87 http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_433585.jpg The rubber game of the series, as the Cubs look to take 4 of 6 on the roadtrip.
  8. Please PH Zambrano for Perez. Just kidding. Kind of.
  9. I leave work at 5, who wants to send text message updates to me while I'm on the El?
  10. Go back a page. Starting a player because they are "familiar with the ballpark" I could hit cleanup at Wrigley, along with half the board, having been there so much.
  11. Ugh, please no sleeveless. I think those are extremely ugly. I agree. Plus, sleeveless jerseys seem stupid from a marketing standpoint. Few people, other than a very select population, would wear sleeveless jerseys to games and such as they require you to wear another shirt underneath. That sounds pretty freaking uncomfortable to me sitting in the stands on a 95 degree day with two shirts on. Sleeveless jerseys are a bad idea. Most people wear a t shirt under their jersey anyway. (I do not support sleeveless jerseys.)
  12. Woods has thrown 7 innings and given up zero runs out of the pen.
  13. Injuries are a part of the game and the team just has to over come them. Moreover, the Cardinals have had their share of pitching injuries over the years. If you remember the 2003 seaon, the Cards had such great pitches as Estaban Yan, Jason Simontachi, Pedro Borbon, Brett Tomko, and Dustin Hermannson in their rotation due to injuries and the death of DK. So the Cubs are not in a position that the Cardinals have not faced in the recent years. Lastly, the Cardinals lost their ace last year right before the playoffs. And Matty Mo and Woody were both playing thru injuries in the playoffs. While the loss of DK was tragic, it happened in June of 2002.
  14. Kerry pitched two innings last night, no way he pitches today. Fixed to allow the reasoning of Wood entering the game after yesterday's work.
  15. I believe he had a good week immediately following the beaning.....then he took a turn down. If that is the case, you cannot attribute the slump to Torres.
  16. They fixed that. You're old news, step aside.
  17. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/scoreboard Look at the Cubs box, Eck hit 5, thats right 5!! home runs tonight!
  18. But its a save opportunity now right? Not for Demster, any one else if would be.
  19. Nice work. Yeah, I know. It was supposed to be posted before the inning started, no as an early celebration. I'll take the fall for this.
