  1. The defense deserves better than this.
  2. What is a realistic time frame for a return from a concussion?
  3. Hester sucks now too. WTF is this dancing [expletive] [expletive]. RUN FORWARD, I can't stand him anymore.
  4. You're annoying.
  5. [expletive] the Texans. Dirty hitting pieces of [expletive].
  6. Davis is a complete waste of space.
  7. Your opinions are often bad, and this is no exception. You are clearly not watching the game, or you don't know football.
  8. Shouldn't be a TD....
  9. He's been sharp. Wasting it though with worthless targets like Davis and Hester.
  10. Sick of Hester playing offense. He sucks.
  11. Hold on to the [expletive] ball.
  12. That list was sorted by franchise value. They are actually 3rd in revenue according to that.
  13. ABTY will be at the winter meetings, so that'll be fun. Chisenhall pleaseeeeeee! Get it done Theo. Could he be this offseason's Rizzo?
  14. Also from the article. That's the last thing I am going to post from it. ETA: Added it for the bolded. Nothing we don't already know, but I still like seeing it.
  15. If that was against site policy I can take it down. It's not all the info or the full article...I cut a lot of it out.
  16. Swoon. Derek Johnson seems like the perfect hire for a guy like Bauer who loves the long toss. I just wonder if Baez alone would get it done. He wasn't ever realistically going to push Starlin off SS and we have other nice 3B options even if they aren't as good. Realistically, Baez isn't going anywhere.
  17. Whoops, I am an idiot. Read the first answer as legal and not illegal and selected it. Anyway, it should be legal. Dumb for it not to be. Don't use it, just don't think it makes sense for it to be illegal.
  18. This is a funny debate. Anyway, fWAR is honestly better than rWAR, but rWAR is still not that bad.
  19. I'm baffled by the sheer number of people who seem to honestly believe this. Or that seem to think the rest of baseball is keeping some kind of running tally and laughing at the Cubs over it. How many major trades/signings can you remember in recent years that we're reported as sure things by major outlets and respected sources and turned out to be no goes? ESPN and CBS had this. Dempster and Soler were reported by some major sources as well. Obviously, the Twitter age is responsible for this, but I can't think of many other major non-trades that were prematurely reported as done deals by multiple respected sources. There was also the Pujols fiasco last year, also Twitter generated, but the last pre-Twitter debacle of this sort I can remember was Peavy, also the Cubs. Do you ever wonder that maybe it's because they are the only team you pay attention to...?
  20. Dude, please just stop. You have some sort of comprehension issue going on?
  21. I wouldn't mind it if he starts pitching like he used to. He was a consistent 6 win player in the past.
  22. Rooftops likely won't be bought by the team. When those properties become available the asking price is so high that it defeats the purpose of buying them. Also, revenue sharing rules would hurt their investment. The team is content with the current situation with the rooftops (for now at least). The real problem is getting the city to allow them to put up advertising in the stadium because of the landmark rules.
  23. Both paying off debt and renovating Wrigley will be more than recouped when the team is sold. A renovated Wrigley is worth more to Ricketts than a bulldozed Wrigely. It should not affect the big league payroll. The debt to be paid off will allow the sale price down the road to be pure profit. You don't get to strip the actual team on the field of any value so you can make pure profit on the franchise valuation (while improving it with a newly renovated park)and not expect people to be pissed off about it. I am pretty sure selling the team is never going to be in Ricketts' plans. His children, grandchildren, etc will own the team so value of the franchise going up for a sale isn't really something he is banking on to make money.
  24. LOL nice sig. Question is, are they counting the Wrigley renovations as part of the baseball budget? ETA: I think your sig is funny because I have actually backed you up on a decent amount of what you say, but it seems like you are taking it to a new level lately. At one point it was reasonable, now you are getting closer to trolling. The problem is most people here are either all out dooms day, or way too optimistic. There is a middle ground that can exist, and a few posters do stay in that zone.
