  1. Dear lord. That swing is just...wow. My god I hope he doesn't bust, he could be MVP good.
  2. Why was Hosmer prioritized over Rizzo? Rizzo had probably already agreed to play for Italy. Had he not, I am guessing he would be playing 1B for USA right now.
  3. Without a doubt. Votto, Rizzo and Gonzalez are all superior to Hosmer. Heck, Teixiera was arguably the worst of the group before he got hurt. And just like that, Hosmer just broke the game open... Debatable about Rizzo. His first year was pretty similar to Hosmer's let's see how he adjusts to the pitchers adjusting to him before we put him above Hosmer. After all HOZ was a top 5 prospect at one point, Rizzo never was. In both of their good seasons, Rizzo had a higher WAR than Hosmer in 195 less plate appearances (and a higher wOBA) and then last year Hosmer was worth about the same as Joe Mather (-1.1 WAR for Hosmer). Rizzo is easily better.
  4. Your parents dropped you on your head. You have no idea how to comprehend the general opinion of this board.
  5. This is the Blackhawks thread. There is an NHL thread. He also talks about the Blackhawks, and Detroit plays the Hawks Sunday. NewUserName is awesome and provides great Hawks related commentary. His comments are always welcome here as far as I'm concerned. Alright, fine! I know he made the Hawks comment, I just hate the Wings lol, annoys me when people wish them well in the Hawks thread, but I'll let it go.
  6. This is the Blackhawks thread. There is an NHL thread.
  7. 3rd shutout already this year.
  8. Shaw has been scoring like a 20 goal scorer since he came up last year, is this SSS?
  9. 1st line looks much better with Saad than it does with Carcillo.
  10. 1998? 2008 I mean... a lot of guys played well that year, but that team actually underperformed its pythag by a game. :-" But 2008 was 5 years ago (and 1998 was 15)... Yeah, but we got way top end variance performance from Theriot, Edmonds, Harden, DeRo, Marmol, etc. Although, yeah we were legitimately really good. 1998 is the year that should be used as the positive variance example. ETA: Fontenot, Reed Johnson, Dempster and to a lesser extent (although maybe not) Soto also all performed at the upper end of their variance potential. LOL even Zambrano's bat was worth 1.4 wins that year.
  11. Kyle's Lillibridge fixation is lol worthy. He will likely be barely below replacement level, and has much more of a chance than Mather ever did at being better than that. Kyle is running out of things to be the ultimate troll about, so he's resorting to throwing [expletive] at the walls and hoping something sticks. Plus, the whole "I'm right" crap in your posts is gag worthy man, chill on that. You are right half the time and wrong half the time. It seems a bit silly when you just brush off the wrong stuff as, "Hey look, everyone is wrong about some things" and then when you are right you act like you were sent from the heavens to teach us lesser beings the true and right way to think about the Cubs. You are so above us, so why do you even post here anymore? I don't post much because every conversation on this site that seems to be meaningful turns into a joke when you enter it, and you try really hard to make sure you are involved in anything worth talking about. I'm going to keep reading, but honestly you should reevaluate your purpose here, it's not really adding to the site in a positive way. ETA: I'm sure Kyle doesn't give a crap.
  12. Guys, 10 or 105, it's basically the same thing.
  13. The one with fewer players makes you happier? I think this is just WSR being WSR. He meant BA not BP, and I am assuming the "other guy" is Bradley Ankrom.
  14. Generally speaking, the choice is between 13/12 and 14/11. 12/13 has been done, but it's pretty rare. Which way? That's what I'm asking. I always thought you tend to carry an extra pitcher than a position player. Teams usually carry either 13 position players and 12 pitchers or 14 position players and 11 pitchers. Rarely ever do teams carry 12 position players and 13 pitchers.
  15. Nahhhhh we should trade him for a goalie LOL every team has some idiotic fans, especially a team that recently won the cup. Kaner will retire a Blackhawk.
  16. I love Patrick Kane. Uber ceiling. That fuc*in guy will score 100 points multiple times before his career is over.
  17. Can someone with an account go yell at this idiot in the comments?
  18. No chance they go to shootout in the playoffs. Just wont happen.
  19. And my concern is Long could be the Bears version of Orlando Pace too. A second coming. The way you are saying it is why people are confused. You could have worded this much better. I am sure most/everyone understand(s) by now but if not, scarey is saying he is worried that signing Long would be Pace 2.0 (the "Bears version" thing doesn't make any sense), another over the hill LT who used to be thought of very highly. It's not the best comparison, but that's what he seems to be getting at.
  20. I see very, very, very little excitement. Only the die-hards are excited. The Blackhawks are easily #3 in my Cubs/Bears/Blackhawks fandom, and my excitement level is quite low. If you're in Jersey, then yes, you're probably not seeing much. Teams across the league are drawing thousands to open practices and scrimmages. Tickets are selling well. This has been a blip. Well, I'm currently in Manhattan. The Rangers are a favorite and people don't really care. It's pretty ridiculous to pretend this was just a blip. Yeah, didn't the Blackhawks just have their most watched regular season game ever? LOL, I live in Manhattan too and people I know seem pretty excited. Idk what to tell you...
  21. If true, I think its Chisenhall and he fills out 1B/3B bench and starter vs LHP role. Anyone else of "note" they may be after? Chisenhall bats LH.
  22. So suspicious that he doesn't want his public humiliation to be at the top of the news, you're right. just like pulling off a bandaid. this douche/gullible idiot/douchey-gullible idiot or whatever he is at this point just needs to get it over with and take his beating. We Americans won't be done with him until he tearfully apologizes to his family and fans and then enters some sort of rehab. "We Americans"? You're bordering on psychotic. Dude, you went to ND, you're alone on this one.
  23. I don't know what ND did to you, but your irrationality on this one subject will forever baffle me. this is all a big gag, right? i mean this has to be a bit from an otherwise rational person. It really seems that when ND is involved, MR's ability to be rational just completely disappears. I have almost never seen someone who is this blindly in denial about their beloved program, while at the same time seems to be pretty solid in other areas
  24. So now you are just making stuff up, huh? ETA: Silly of me to say, that's been true forever.
